‘Awesome Philippa’ and the Epstein Networks in Germany

Feb. 24—The following is the unedited version of an article appearing in the coming issue of the EIR Strategic Alert Service, out this week in Germany.

The German government and mainstream media are trying to keep the lid on a scandal that threatens to reveal a deep control by Epstein-connected MI6 networks over German government policy. The scandal involves Philippa Sigl-Glöckner (PSG), a former official of the Finance Ministry and current head of the SPD Council of Economic Policy, who pops up in a June 23, 2018 e-mail to Epstein. An unknown (blacked out) sender (who has been identified as Melanie Walker, who worked at the Gates Foundation and served as a science adviser to Epstein) wrote to Epstein: “You remember one of my awesome young staffers. Philippa finished her master’s degree in compsci and starts a job with the super elite German secret service and is placed within the ministry of Finance to follow money.”

The “awesome” staffer is Philippa Sigl-Glöckner, a British-trained economist who worked with Tony Blair’s Africa Governance, from which she went to work for the German foreign intelligence agency BND, and was assigned to the office of Undersecretary of Finance Wolfgang Schmidt.

Being mentioned as an “awesome young staffer” in a mail exchange with Epstein is not the best calling card, in view of the sex trade activity which has been uncovered through the publication of the Epstein files. However, the case of PSG sheds light on the core-business of the Epstein networks: intelligence and political subversion.

PSG runs the Berlin think-tank Dezernat Zukunft, which she founded a few weeks later than the date of the abovementioned e-mail to Epstein, whose mission is “supporting people in forming their political opinions.” According to media reports, PSG helped complete the transformation of the SPD into an anti-industrial, radical Green party, providing technical and strategic guidance especially during coalition negotiations and party platform development.

Fabio De Masi, a co-chairman of the BSW (Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht) party, raised questions on PSG’s role in the famous Wirecard scandal (https://www.solidaritaet.com/neuesol/2020/29/wirecard.htm). According to De Masi, PSG was key in negotiating the German-Chinese deal by which China adopted Wirecard as the first foreign payment system ever. PSG’s superior was Wolfgang Schmidt, and Schmidt’s boss was his old Hamburg buddy Olaf Scholz, at that time Finance Minister (https://x.com/FabioDeMasi/status/2024559050256441655).

According to a whistleblower named Yury Nemkov, several German intelligence and security agencies have covered up for individuals involved in another scandal involving Epstein, when he was allowed to keep his Deutsche Bank accounts after his conviction. Specifically, the allegations related to corruption, money laundering, and tax fraud.

Wirecard collapsed in 2020 after a €1.9 billion accounting hole was uncovered, and investigations found major regulatory failure. Scholz was not directly involved, but agencies in his ministry failed to supervise. The suspicion is that the fraud was not uncovered because of political cover. Wirecard CEO Jan Marsalek is a fugitive. In an earlier statement posted by De Masi, Marsalek spoke about Wirecard’s “work with the BND and the CIA,” but witnesses, “if they speak, will probably then commit suicide in prison, Epstein-style.”

It must be recalled that the head of the BND, when PSG was deployed by the BND to the Finance Ministry, was Bruno Kahl, who went on record in 2025 wishing for a prosecution of the war in Ukraine.

A serious investigation into those networks could open a Pandora’s box, and provide explanations for the operations that have been conducted against German national interests, from the adoption of the insane “Green Deal,” to involvement in the NATO war in Ukraine—not to forget the supine response to the announced sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline.
