AfD Presents ‘Germany Plan’ as Alternative to Government Policies

Dec. 7—During the Nov. 27 Bundestag debate on the 2026 fiscal budget, AfD leader Alice Weidel presented the party’s 12-point “Germany Plan,” which includes the following measures:

  1. Affordable and secure energy: Ending the energy transition, returning to nuclear power, extending the operating life of coal-fired power plants, repairing the Nord Stream pipelines, and resuming gas imports from Russia.
  2. Economic policy: Abolition of the ban on combustion engines, all supply chain laws, and a market-based deregulation of the economy through bureaucracy reduction and tax cuts.
  3. Social policy: Return to the principle of solidarity with full social benefits only for contributors, introduction of an activating basic income guarantee, and relief for the pension insurance system through capital coverage.
  4. Migration policy: Closed borders, comprehensive border controls, rigorous deportations, benefits in kind instead of cash for asylum seekers, and stricter naturalization criteria.
  5. Fiscal policy: Cutting government spending, ending new debt, and focusing the state on core tasks such as internal security and the rule of law.
  6. Subsidy policy: Abolition of clientel subsidies, ban on the financing of NGOs and Antifa as a terrorist organization.
  7. Reduction of bureaucracy: Structural reform to reduce the jungle of subsidies and bureaucracy; tax money should remain with citizens and businesses.
  8. Tax reform: Introduction of a uniform, low tax rate, family splitting, high allowances, and abolition of the solidarity surcharge. Weidel emphasized that these measures could be implemented immediately and would have majorities in the Bundestag if the CDU/CSU were prepared to tear down the so-called “firewall” to the AfD. “It is up to you whether you are prepared to tear down the so-called ‘firewall’ to the AfD.”

In the economic part of the plan, there are many problematic items: deregulation, cutdown of bureaucracy, cut of government spending, and ending new debt in favor of a balanced budget. All of these are consistent with the thinking of the gaggle of Donald Trump's economic advisors.

The better part of the program reflects the rejection of the "green revolution," which has been destroying German industry, as well as the rejection of NATO's war in the Ukraine that has been used to shift the economy into a garrison state war mobilization. These are views which strike a chord with the majority of the German population, including the worker base of the Social Democrats, which have been abandoned by the party leadership, as has the entrepreneurs and small business people, as well as the non-military industrial base of the Christians Democrats and the CSU, which can support the policies of ending green energy policies, return of nuclear power, import of Russian natural gas, repair of the Nord Stream pipelines, keeping coal-fired power plants for time being, ending ban of combustion engines. An issue important for many is the ending of privileged state support for Ukrainian refugees, particularly 300,000 men at age required for military service in Ukraine; ending of funding Ukraine’s war against Russia in favor of a peace agreement as pushed by Trump against the Euro-fools of NATO, of which German Chancellor Merz is a leading fool.

As for the “firewall,” the Merz current among the Christian Democrats is freaked out about the announcement by the association of family-owned enterprises (mostly mittelstand) at the end of past week that they will lift the ban of contacts to the AfD—they will now meet and talk with them. This is not an endorsement of the AfD, the association made clear, but not talking to the party at all is not acceptable, they stressed.

Rep. Luna Invites AfD Delegation

Meanwhile, U.S. Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla), who is close to Trump, recently invited an AfD delegation from Germany led by co-leader Weidel to Washington via the X platform. Weidel expressed her enthusiasm, but no official travel plans have been announced to date.

In preparation, the Luna, who has served Trump as a Congressional liaison to the Russians, and especially President Vladimir Putin envoy Kirill Dmitriev, met with AfD member of the Bundestag Anna Rathert at the end of October. Rathert, a representative from Recklinghausen in North Rhine-Westphalia, also posted a photo of her meeting with Luna on Instagram and X.

Luna met Dmitriev in Florida over the weekend of Oct. 26-27, where the Russian was working with Trump Special Envoy Steve Witkoff on the peace plan to end the Ukraine war.
