Another Chinese Breakthrough: Lithium Batteries Function at −34°C

Feb. 14—Chinese researchers have developed an ultra-low-temperature lithium battery that enables operation in extreme cold. They competed onsite testing in Mohe in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, successfully solving a long-standing energy supply problem for frigid regions, Science and Technology Daily reported on Feb. 11, according to Global Times(https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202602/1355177.shtml).

The testing was conducted by a team led by Academician Chen Zhongwei from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
