Cheminade Addresses Sovereignist Event Organized by the ‘French Patriots’ Party
Sept. 21—On Sept. 13, Jacques Cheminade of France’s Solidarité et Progrès party was a guest at the sovereignty conference organized by Florian Phillipot’s political party, Les Patriotes. Former spokesman for Marine Le Pen (National Front) during the 2012 and 2017 presidential elections, Phillipot left the party when it abandoned the idea of leaving the European Union and NATO. He then founded his own party, “Les Patriotes,” but not yet “patriots and citizens of the world”! He regularly organizes demonstrations in Paris and elsewhere against Macron’s war policy, NATO, the euro, and the European Union, to which Solidarité et Progrès activists are regularly invited to address.
Some 3,600 people gathered in Arras, northern France, to defend sovereignty. With more than 30 guests, including politicians, journalists, historians, philosophers, and authors, they discussed topics such as the fraud of global warming and the folly of solar panels and wind turbines, the fight against wokeism, the imperialism of the European Union, the role of mass media in brainwashing the population, and more. Cheminade addressed an audience of over 1,000 on the topic of “how to free ourselves from financial occupation.” His speech was both highly controversial and well received, despite the fact that most of the French sovereignists tend to see both Donald Trump and bitcoin as models to follow. Also on the panel was Eric Branca, a renowned French historian, who denounced Anglo-American influence in the creation of post-war Europe and the key role of the British in the creation of Nazism; and Caroline Galactéros, president of Geogpragma, a leading thinktank in France.
During his closing speech, which lasted more than 30 minutes in front of 3,500 people, Florian Phillipot said that one of the most important contributions to sovereignty made by Jacques Cheminade over the years, was the fight against the world of big finance. In addition, having received Schiller Institute chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s statement a few days earlier, he said that “Western nations must cooperate with the new world order.” He included in his speech the importance of the emergence of the BRICS and the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Cheminade’s broad policy discussion of matters such as education and science, provided a useful antidote to the logic of nationalist politics and isolationism otherwise afflicting the sovereignists. Many eagerly purchased Cheminade’s latest book, Répondre au cri du peuple (Responding to the Cry of the People).
