China To Build a New Port in Kuwait

Dec. 27—The Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works and China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) has signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the first phase of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island in northern Jahra Governorate, Kuwait.

Liu Xiang, chargé d’affaires at the Chinese Embassy, called the signing a milestone for implementing bilateral cooperation agreements and advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries. Liu said the project would support Kuwait’s economic diversification and its 2035 vision for its economy.
