Report: Israel offered to release Marwan Barghouti and PFLP head Sa’adat in truce deal rejected by Hamas

The blog reported that Hamas rejected the deal, citing its intention for a full ceasefire and release of all prisoners as a basis for any agreement.

Other sources, however, reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, under pressure from elements of the military to appear “reasonable” authorized the offer with the knowledge obtained from agents inside and around Hamas that the group would reject it, as well as that it would reject a more comprehensive plan proffered by the Egyptians. Bibi intends to kill as many Palestinians as possible, while driving the rest out of Gaza and the West Bank as well, as sources have reported. “Hamas should have accepted the deal in principle and that would have screwed Netanyahu.” This report and those of other sources express a fear that as unrest grows against his policies inside Israel, Netanyahu will stage some incident to bring the war to Hezbollah on the West Bank. The plans for such a provocation are reportedly already in the works.
