Facing Military Defeat, NATO’s Ukraine Launches ‘Prebunking’ Psychological Warfare Project

July 27—A new phase is underway in NATO’s use of Ukraine as a testing ground for the efficacy of centralized Orwellian “Big Brother” operations to silence independent thought. This time, it is a nationwide “prebunking” operation, whose purpose is to induce family members to police any family member who thinks that Ukraine and its NATO backers might not be able to achieve the goal of destroying Russia, and that, therefore, the conflict should be resolved through negotiations.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) announced July 24 that it has teamed up with Google’s Jigsaw, the EU-based Moonshot operation, BBC Media, and various USAID-financed “disinformation” agencies in Ukraine (Vox Ukraine, StopFake, Detector Media and Suspilne are named) to launch a “media literacy initiative … to increase resistance to misinformation.”

The stated strategy is to use the approach of “prebunking.” This is the absurd construct that a government must not wait to “debunk” unacceptable ideas after they are circulating, but act preemptively to silence such ideas in advance; ergo “preliminary debunking.” Three “educational videos” have been produced, so far, for this purpose. In each, popular Ukrainian personalities enact “family dinner table” discussions in which some family members “help” other “loved ones” evaluate information “properly.” The videos target youth and members of the older generation, identified as most vulnerable to wishing the war would end.

The regime is clearly concerned about rising domestic unrest. The announcement of this project talks, for example, of the need to strengthen people’s resistance to the enemy’s “disinformation” operations “inducing emotions such as sadness, hopelessness, anger, and exhaustion to prevent critical thinking about a topic.” The enemy plays upon “the psychological exhaustion caused by the military conflict … to exacerbate social divisions, as well as to amplify existing frustrations with Ukrainian institutions and the war effort,” they warn.

CCD head Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko told Detector Media the next day that there are two main lines of domestic “disinformation” that they will be fighting this year and next. The first, is the “disinformation” that the Defense Forces cannot win, and therefore the regime’s drive for mass conscription is just sending people into a “meatgrinder.” The second, is that the increasing electricity blackouts mean that Ukrainians will face a “black winter” without power.

While the psywarriors people believe that they can convince Ukrainians that "snow is black" by such propaganda, they run smack into the reality of the accumulation of "body bags" returned from the front, with the remains of loved ones, and the enormous numbers of wounded, including amputees, overwhelming the country's medical facilities.  With more than 700,000 Ukrainian's dead and even more maimed and wounded, only the most deluded and corrupt of NATO's assets believe that the war has not been lost, and long ago.
