How Much Longer Can Israel Tolerate Bibi?
Jan. 7, 2024—There is a growing sense across the beleaguered nation of Israel that its extremely unpopular Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, who has launched what is perceived to be a war of extermination against Palestinians, must be removed from office, along with his insane religious party coalition partners before he destroys this once proud nation in his blood lust. The question is who will take the necessary steps to drive him from office and hold him accountable for orchestrating the slaughter of Israeli citizens on Oct. 7 by the Hamas, a syncretic terrorist organization heavily penetrated by Israeli intelligence and full of high-level informants, to provide an excuse to launch his bloody assault on Gaza as part of his “final solution” to end all possibility of the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state.
While much of the Israeli media coverage tries to lay the blame for such policies on his crazy “blood and soil” religious coalition partners, who have promoted the settlement policy in the Occupied Territories (the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip), and of whom, it is claimed, Bibi must appease to stay in power, their leaders (who are indeed insane), such as Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, have little to do with Netanyahu’s thinking, borne out a Nazi-like race hatred and fear of millions of Palestinians overwhelming his “Chosen People.”
In reality, to Netanyahu, the only good Palestinian is a dead one, and all that he has done is consistent with this. Netanyahu, a source reported, “believes himself to be the savior of his Chosen People and that he is acting with God on his side. Israel, and especially the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), once respected as one of the world’s great militaries, who are now seen in much of the world as akin to the Waffen-SS, [the combat branch of the German Nazi Party’s paramilitary Schutzstaffel (SS) organization], for what it is doing under Bibi’s orders, are only pawns in his great game.”
This source believes that it will ultimately be the military that forces Bibi out, and the process may already be underway. IDF Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi has already set in motion an investigation to determine who was responsible for the events of Oct. 7, and the failure of Israel to adequately respond to the threat and then the attack, in what most media erroneously describe as a “colossal intelligence failure.”
But with the IDF and the intelligence services under fire, sources have speculated that such a probe, if it does not cover for Bibi, will ultimately discover him to be the mastermind of the Hamas provocation: Maybe the whole story will not come out, said another source with intelligence connections, "but if any truth emerges, Bibi is in the hot seat.”
The U.S. Administration of sleepy Joe Biden, it is thought, gave a green light to the IDF action in Gaza, originally claiming that it was a response to the savage attack by Hamas “animals” as President Biden famously characterized them, using the same Nazi-like formulation as Bibi. But as the civilian Palestinian casualties mounted to now more than 25,000, with a majority being women and children, Biden is taking a political hit, internationally and at home, in an election year.
Thus, while trying to maintain support for the Gaza operation, the Administration has sophistically asked for more humane treatment of the Palestinians, that respect their human rights—while continuing to support the extermination of the Hamas “animals.” In addition, the White House has told Bibi that it wanted to see an exit strategy—a plan for the “day after” the war in Gaza ends.
The U.S. was likely not prepared for the “day after” plan announced on Jan. 5 by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The plan calls for a permanent Israeli military presence in Gaza and along the border, and apparently gives them police powers as well, since no provision is made for the establishment of a Palestinian police force; the Palestinians will be allowed to govern their civil affairs and services, but that government will exclude the Hamas, and also for the foreseeable future, the Palestinian Authority (which Bibi despises).
The only bone thrown at the U.S. and the rest of the international community is that Israel will bar any settlements in Gaza. Reconstruction of Gaza is to be carried out, according to this plan, by the U.S. and moderate Arab states, such as Egypt, while at the same time removing all UN agencies, which the Israeli government claims, aids Hamas.
Netanyahu allowed this non-starter plan to be floated without his own comment. It was immediately rejected by members of the Israeli cabinet since no one in the international community will support it and would only further enhance Israel’s pariah status in the world.
Then Bibi staged a 3-ring circus clown show, organizing what he knew would be a contentious cabinet meeting, ostensibly to discuss the plan. The religious nuts had already gone berserk, attacking the plan for its ban on settlements. A rare full cabinet meeting descended into loud shouting matches between the various factions of insanity that comprise Bibi’s government, with the Prime Minister serving as ring master. What is worth noting is that Smotrich and Ben-Gvir launched an attack on the IDF Chief Halevi for having the audacity to begin a probe into Oct. 7, saying that army was going to try to pawn off blame onto the government and hurling epithets and threats at the commander of Israel’s men on the battlefield. Netanyahu allowed this to take place and is reported to have told the outraged Halevi to calm down, that “sometimes you just have to listen to them.” Ultimately, Bibi ended the meeting.
This is all side show, said one source of the contentious cabinet meeting. “It is theater—theater of the absurd,” he said. “Entertainment for the masses. Bibi intends to continue the slaughter, continue this bloody war, until somebody stops him. He dominates the opposition. He rules as a tyrant rules.”
Asked whether this week’s hearing in the International Court of Justice in the Hague on the South African complaint that Israel is committing crimes against humanity in Gaza will have any effect on Bibi and his bloodlust, the source said, “I just hope that these well-meaning people don’t attack the entire state of Israel and the Israeli people for these crimes. There is one man responsible and group that he dominates as Hitler did his government. Zero in on Netanyahu as principally responsible, and then hold those who follow his orders accountable. But I fear they will botch this, and if they do, it might just make matters worse, reinforcing Bibi’s “us against the world” defense of Israel bullshit. In the end, it is the Israeli people who must deal with this Hitler, as the German people never really did.”
