Is Ukraine Already Using Storm Shadows?
Sept. 16—While the media focusses your attention on whether or not the U.S. and the British will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use advanced, long range missile systems (that the respective nations have provided) to strike deep inside Russia, well-placed sources have speculated that the British may have already assisted Ukraine in using its Storm Shadow missiles in an attack last week on Moscow.
On Sept. 10 Ukraine hurled more than 140 drones at eleven Russian regions. While most were shot down, in the Moscow region, more than 600 km from Ukraine, several struck mostly residential buildings. That distance, as well as the fact that the majority of the “drones” that penetrated Russia’s air defenses, caused these sources to believe that they could have been air-launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
The attacks prompted intense warnings from the Russians, including from President Vladimir Putin, stating clearly that Russia reserves the right to respond to such attacks in any way it sees fit. Singling out the British and the United States for responsibility, Russia recognizes that these attacks are being carried out with the full complicity of NATO, and require NATO’s support for targeting and guidance. Therefore, Russia’s response would not be limited to Ukraine.
Officially, the United States and the British say that no decision has been made to deploy either the Storm Shadow or the American ATACMS missile systems for attacks deep into Russia. Sources report that President “Sleepy Joe” Biden became angry when pressed by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Sept. 13 to authorize their deployment, telling Starmer that he “would not risk nuclear war [with Russia] to save these bastards [the Ukrainians]. They have lost the war and nothing will change that....”
“Several people have told me that the Brits believe that they could force Biden’s hand on the deployment,” said one source. “They are working with people in [the] State [Department] to get around Biden’s objections. It is possible that the reason for Biden’s anger is that they [the Brits] presented him with a fait accompli, telling him that Storm Shadows have already been deployed. But Biden has an assessment that the war has been lost, and the Ukrainian political command and that clown, [Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr] Zelenskyy, are acting like Adolf Hitler in the bunker and are in a state of denial. Biden wants the war to end, and I think that he is sincere about not wanting to risk nuclear war. But he is surrounded by crazies, who think the Russians are bluffing and won’t retaliate. These people are insane! In what universe won’t the Russians retaliate for NATO attacks on their homeland? They know that the fool Zelenskyy is just a puppet, who they can point to as doing this, but the Russians know better who is attacking them.
“The Russians also know that NATO and Ukraine have lost the war,” said the source. “It is only a matter of time before the entire Ukrainian defense collapses, and its military command calls a halt to this, and if necessary, ousts Zelenskyy and his whole corrupt regime. So far, he cost Ukraine more than 700,000 lives in this senseless slaughter that should have ended in April 2022 with a peace agreement. NATO, using its Ukrainian Nazi assets, like Azov, provoked this war with attacks on Russian-speaking Ukrainians. They [NATO] provoked Russia’s response, and then have run this war to try to bleed Russia, causing it to divert its economy into military production, in an effort to produce runaway inflation and economic collapse, enhanced by the sanctions policy and the seizure of Russian assets. But they failed to understand that Putin figured out this game. Russia has never acted as if it were engaged in some fight with stupid Ukrainians, but NATO, and they have told their people that. Russians overwhelmingly support the war and Putin, despite reports fabricated by NATO to show otherwise. And NATO also underestimated the ability of Russia’s ally and strategic partner, China, through trade and other deals, to provide credits and cash to help blunt the economic effects of the war.
“The Russians are aware of the total, pathetic weakness of the White House and its caretaker President,” the source continued. “So, they warn of the consequences of NATO’s intensifying its war against Russia. And now, in various statements directed to Kyiv, they warn of a potential change in their overall strategy, should attacks on the Russian homeland continue. They say that they might just go for a decapitation strike, to wipe out the entire Ukrainian government, or, in the words of [former Russian President Dimitry] Medvedev: ‘reduce Kyiv to a melted spot,’ using advanced conventional weapons that NATO is unable to match or stop.
“As I stated,” said the source, “nothing [NATO can do] will change the situation on the battlefield. The fighting is likely over by the end of October. The Ukrainian military command will stop, when its forces, in general rout, can no longer fight. The wanna-be little Hitler, Zelenskyy can’t prevent that. Nor can repeated senseless attacks with Storm Shadows or ATACMS against the Russian homeland. That would only lead to Russia responding directly against NATO targets as Putin has been clearly warning about."
