NATO War Party Tries to Sabotage Trump-Putin Relationship
July 15—Sources close to the White House say that the NATO war party and its propaganda machine are deliberately trying to sabotage what remains of a potentially viable relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump. The two have spoken directly several times, with Trump also dispatching his trusted Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to meet and speak with the Russian leader. The pair have worked to try to cool situations, including ending the so-called 12 Day War between Israel and Iran that saw the United States dragged into the fray by Israel. Putin helped end the war by refusing Iran's requests to be rearmed and urging moderation, especially in response to the U.S. bombing of its nuclear enrichment facilities on June 21.
Russia Proposes Alternative to Uranium Enrichment
Similarly, Putin has been working behind the scenes to find a way around the impasse in talks between the U.S. and Iran on a deal that would allow Iran a robust civilian nuclear program but bar nuclear weapons development. That impasse centers on the enrichment of uranium, and the Russians have offered to provide an alternative to direct Iranian enrichment, which is opposed by the U.S.
The leak sheet Axios sought to blow up these delicate discussions by publishing July 13 reports from U.S. and Israeli sources claiming that Putin had told the Iranians he was opposed to having them enrich uranium and that he backed the U.S. position. This immediately forced denials of such explicit statements by the Russians and the Iranians, although Russian spokespeople did say that the Russians believe in a negotiated settlement and that they have offered to hold and allow the Iranians to work on and with enriched uranium.
"There are people who do not want an Iran deal, which both Trump and Putin want," said a source. "There will be no statement to this effect, but the Russians do not want Iran to develop a bomb, for their own interests and that of peace in the region. And they do not want the war to restart, nor does President Trump. It is the cooperation between these two world leaders which can assure that a deal can be found."
Trump’s Doubts and Intelligence Assessment
This and other sources report that both the U.S. and the Russian Rosatom have said that, if a deal is made, they will come across and help in development of Iranian civilian reactors. The sources also say that reports that Trump has given the Israelis the okay to renew bombing of Iran if they think it's moving toward bomb development are completely false. "Trump now believes that he may have been played for a sucker by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Bibi [Netanyahu] and there really was no evidence that the Iranians were going for a bomb and were close to getting one. U.S. intelligence has given him a sound assessment that there was no evidence. That it was hoked up. He should have followed through with the negotiations and intends to do so now."
But the sources report that there are people inside the Administration, especially around the State Department, with strong Zionist and NATO connections, who want the deal to fail. They, the sources report, are behind the Axios leak, along with Israelis close to the messianic Netanyahu.
Ceasefire Struggles in Ukraine
But there is tension in the Trump-Putin relationship over the Russians’ failure to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine. NATO is moving in like "gang busters" to widen the gap between the two.
White House sources say that following a July 3 call with Putin, Trump was visibly frustrated at the lack of progress on ending the fighting in Ukraine. But people who have spoken with the Russians say that they could enter negotiations and agree to a ceasefire if Ukraine would stop attacking targets, including non-military ones, inside Russia, and if the U.S. would not let Ukrainians rotate troops and send new supplies to the front lines during a ceasefire. Trump has barred the use of American ATACMS systems for attacks deep into Russia but has been urged by NATO's Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reverse this ban and send more ATACMS, as Ukraine is basically out of them after use under Biden.
Zelenskyy did so again July 4 in a call with Trump after his frustrating talk with Putin, in which he also decried the "savage" Russian drone attacks on civilian targets in Kyiv and elsewhere. But sources point on that most of the Russian targets remain military in nature, and include factories and infrastructure, which Ukraine has in civilian areas; these sources say that many of the "savage" attack on apartments and schools, for example, are the result of drones being shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
Weapon Allegations and White House Position
Then, this morning the NATO rag and mouthpiece of the City of London financial empire, the Financial Times, reported that Trump, according to Reuters, "has privately encouraged Ukraine to step up strikes deep in Russian territory, even asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy whether he could hit Moscow if the U.S. provided long-range weapons.
"The newspaper, citing two people familiar with the conversation, said Trump spoke to his Ukrainian counterpart in a call on July 4, a day after speaking to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Trump also discussed sending Ukraine U.S.-made ATACMS missiles, the FT reported, citing the same sources."
Reuters said they could not verify the report, but nonetheless sent it around the globe as further evidence of an alleged shift by Trump toward NATO's war strategy in Ukraine.
White House sources say that Trump has no intention of allowing Ukraine to strike Moscow, as he understands that this will lessen the chance for peace. They say that Trump does not believe that Putin can be militarily forced to negotiate by aggressive new attacks. Instead, they say he has given in to the idea of showing that the U.S. will continue to back Ukraine's defense, while seeking renewed negotiations. These sources say that there are no ATACMS or other aggressive weapons in the new supplies that Trump announced yesterday with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte present, which would be sent to Ukraine. The sources also say that the President believes there will be a ceasefire within the 50-day time limit he set yesterday before new sanctions and tariffs would be imposed.
"The President is frustrated, but he is not stupid," said a source close to the White House. "He knows that Ukraine cannot win the war, as these NATO fools say, or even fight on much longer. He wants to save lives—Russian, Ukrainian—and wants to avoid a nuclear [war]. After the Russians agree to a ceasefire and come to the table, then the pressure will be on Zelenskyy to agree to give up territory that is now part of Russia. He will scream like a little chicken."
