Putin Throws Monkey Wrench into Global NATO’s War Plans vs. Iran

Aug. 6—Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again demonstrated his capability as a master strategist, whose actions cannot be anticipated by the morons that direct Global NATO who have initiated a scheme with the potential for all-out war against Iran.

Sources report a call by Putin over the past few days to Iran’s new President, Massoud Pezeshkian to discuss the “strategic situation” in the region, following Global NATO’s deployment of their asset, the Butcher of Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi Netanyahu who ordered the July 30 assassination of Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh. Haniyeh was in Tehran, to attend Pezeshkian’s inauguration. These sources say that Putin told Pezeshkian that he should avoid making the kind of response that could be used by NATO and its crazed puppet Bibi to take measures that would lead to a regional war.

And while NATO’s propaganda machine poured out reports stoking the fears for such a war, talking about the world waiting with “baited breath” and “dread” for what they said was an “inevitable” outbreak of hostilities, Putin yesterday dispatched his former Defense Minister and now Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu to Tehran, at “Iran’s request” for consultations. Shoigu was last in Iran in September when he was still Russian Defense Minister.

Shoigu and his team, which includes military personnel, will meet with the top people in the Iranian military command, as well as with Pezeshkian. Shoigu also met with his counterpart Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Gen. Mohammad Bagheri. Iran’s Mehr news agency reported that Gen. Bagheri told Shoigu that the relations between their two countries are “strategic, deep, and long-term, and will not be disrupted by the change of governments.”

Putin asked Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for a restrained response to Haniyeh's assassination, and advised against attacks on Israeli civilians, two senior Iranian sources told Reuters. The message was delivered by Shoigu, a senior Putin ally, in meetings with top Iranian officials, the sources said.

Iran has asked for advanced air-defense systems from Russia, the New York Times reported, citing two Iranian officials, who added that Russia had begun transferring them.

In addition, issues of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security in bilateral and multilateral formats were discussed, in particular within the framework of the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The parties noted the growing exchange of delegations.

“The optics of this are very important,” said a source. “Global NATO, in tossing the Israeli, or in this case the Bibi, hand grenade, had calculated that they could get Iran to respond in a way that would justify a greater Israeli counter-response, and we would be off and running toward a regional war. They had stupidly calculated that the Russians would not militarily intervene as they really consider Iran to be outside their strategic domain.

“But now Putin has given Global NATO something to think about. In sending Shoigu to Tehran, Putin has delayed any military activity by Iran, Israel, and the U.S., allowing cooler heads to perhaps intervene. The Iranians won’t do anything while Shoigu is in Iran.

“Putin has also put a trusted emissary right at the side of the Iranians for all sorts of photo ops. This has to give even the stupidest of strategic thinkers pause to question their insane assumption that Iran could be taken out by Global NATO without a Russian response, thereby showing up Russia as a ‘paper tiger’ that won’t defend its allies.

“Putin has told the Iranians: ‘Don’t fall into the NATO trap, and I will protect you,’|” the source continued. “And for the NATO idiots, he has quite visibly inserted Russia right into the middle of this in a way they could not have expected. The Global NATO fools, including the idiot war-gamers and Risk players from locations such as RAND and the Defense Department’s Office of Net Assessment, are crippled by their linear thinking. They think that they can define the boundary conditions for an opponent’s response. But Putin has warned them. He has de facto told them, ‘Why should I strike back at you where you expect it? I intend to strike asymmetrically.’

“So Global NATO thinks they can control their sandbox Southwest Asia, and that Russia has all sorts of problems projecting force there. They point to the pullout of nearly all Russian troops from Syria that began March 15 as an example of why the Russians have little or less real presence in the region. But what if Putin defends Iran by striking somewhere else, say at NATO in Europe, at some U.S. base, if the U.S. is played on this?”

Sources have reported that while the Global NATO crowd that dominates the U.S. in the absence of a strong Presidency, is all in on this Iran gambit, there is considerable opposition inside the military and intelligence community, most notably from CIA Director William Burns, who believes this all to be “lunacy,” one source said. “It should be hoped that Putin’s move in Tehran will give some of these slightly saner people ammunition to call off their rabid-dog counterparts.

“For what it is worth, the White House and ‘Sleepy Joe’ Biden have authorized U.S. forces being deployed in the region only to assume a defensive posture. They would be used, the White House assumes, only to defend Israel by shooting down Iranian missiles, drones, and aircraft that might attack Israel. There is, in fact, nothing in these deployments that suggests the size and shape of what might be needed for a full-on attack on Iran, despite the hysterical bluster of the most rabid war hawks. If someone can control Bibi, the situation might be walked back from the edge, especially if Burns and company can force a peace deal in Gaza.

“That might seem crazy,” said a source, “but Bibi had said he would never accept a peace deal that kept the same Hamas leadership in place. Well, with the killing of [Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau] Ismail Haniyah and [Commander of Hamas’ military wing, the Al-Qasam Brigades, Muhammed] Deif, and now the Hamas’ Economic Minister [Abdel-Fattah Zeriel], that leadership has changed. This puts more heat on Netanyahu to accept a deal. With pressure on Bibi coming from the military and the intelligence chiefs, and from the hostage families, and with Burns still working hard on this, there just may be a deal. If there is, it throws water and sand all over this stupid NATO gambit. Let’s see what plays out.”
