Ron Dermer, 'Bibi's Brain,' Suddenly Resigns

Nov. 12—Citing a pledge to his family to serve in government no more than two years which he had already extended twice, Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, the closest and most trusted advisor to the Butcher of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu, suddenly resigned this morning, leaving Bibi without the man many call "Bibi's Brain."

While he presented a letter that praised Netanyahu's leadership, the American-born Dermer noted that "this government will be known for Oct. 7 (ed—the date of the Hamas massacre attack on Israel that slaughtered more than 1,200 mostly innocent Israeli civilians, including women and children and took another 250 hostage—and for which Bibi's government has blocked a government commission of inquiry to assess responsibilities and cause for the attack) and for its management of the two-year, seven-front war that followed."

"Standing firm in the face of domestic and foreign pressures, you wisely navigated Israel throughout the war," Dermer added about Netanyahu. "When the truth is revealed and the facts become clear, I trust and am sure that appreciation for your leadership will grow even greater."

Tensions Over Trump Peace Plan and Ceasefire

While the Israeli media, including Haaretz, were quick to identify Dermer's exit as part of the continuing unraveling of Netanyahu's inner core, as his government moves toward inevitable elections, possibly early next year, other sources say that there may be other factors at play. These sources say that Dermer, who served nearly a decade as Israel's ambassador in Washington and who became a close friend of President DonaldTrump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, played a key role in pushing the reluctant messianic racist Netanyahu into accepting the Trump Peace Plan. But it is becoming increasingly obvious to many people that Netanyahu is doing everything in his power to blow the plan up and restart the war.

Those efforts and provocations led to a testy meeting between Bibi, Dermer, and Jared Kushner, dispatched by Trump and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to "read Bibi the riot act on the ceasefire. Bibi said he would abide, but Dermer knew that is a lie. There are some people who say that Dermer is tired of lying for the Prime Minister to the Americans, especially to Kushner."

These and other sources report that Dermer met privately with his friend Kushner before firing off his resignation letter.

Fallout and Uncertainty Ahead

There may be other areas of disagreement, including on the question of a commission of inquiry, which Dermer reportedly thinks is long overdue, and which Bibi intends to block as long as he can.

The most immediate result of the exit of "Bibi's Brain," said a source, is that "Bibi will have no one who can coolly and forcefully present his side of the story to the Trump people, who increasingly do not trust him. And maybe that is a good thing for Israel and the world."

It is too early to consider how Netanyahu intends to deal with this problem.
