Russia’s SVR Says U.S. Preparing Regime Change in Kyiv
Aug. 14—Russia’s foreign intelligence service, the SVR, issued a statement this morning saying that NATO and its Washington assets are working on options to replace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a “more manageable and less corrupt figure, who would suit most Western allies.” Zelenskyy is taking “insane steps” that threaten to escalate the situation far beyond the borders of Ukraine, the SVR said, reported Sputnik.
The SVR stated: “The former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov is currently being considered as a suitable candidate. The U.S. considers Avakov’s ‘strengths’ to be his close ties with Ukrainian nationalist formations and his continuing contacts with the leaders of European countries.” Although the SVR does not elaborate, EIR has documented that those “close ties with Ukrainian nationalist formations” refer to Avakov’s role in the founding of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion and as the political godfather of the Ukrainian hit squad, Myrotvorets—not to mention his close working relationship over the years with Victoria Nuland and the FBI (see next item).
The SVR statement concluded: “The U.S. administration has already instructed affiliated NGOs to work out the scenario of Avakov’s coming to power in Ukraine. Now this issue is being discussed with the leaders of the leading Ukrainian opposition parties … as well as with a number of influential deputies of the Verkhovna Rada from the ruling Servant of the People party.”
This scenario is likely not to sit well with sections of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, whose leadership has been in negotiations with their Russian counterparts for some months to hammer out a plan to end NATO's war against Russia using Ukrainian bodies. Sources report that much of the General Staff was opposed to Zelenskyy's 'Hitler-in-the bunker" suicide invasion of Russia's Kursk region, which took forces away for Ukraine's front lines in east. While NATO's sock puppet dictator, Zelenskyy, whose mandate as President expired in May and has ruled under a martial law decree, has been one of the key obstacles to a peace deal, the imposition of the former Internal Affairs Minister to lead the government would mean a takeover by actual Nazis. There is no way, these sources say, that the Russians would ever deal with Avakov, as one of their non-negotiable points is the disbanding of all Nazi formations like Azov.
"NATO is foolish if they think that they would be able to put an actual Nazi in charge of the Ukraine," the source said. "The Russians may be doing something clever here. By l;eaking this report, they may actually spur the sane people in the Ukrainian military to dispose Zelenskyy, and then push the peace process forward. Regardless, when the Kursk maneuver runs its course, there is going to be enormous pressure to end this war, whether NATO wants that or not. Ad, there will not be another Maidan."
