Russian Duma Speaker Volodin Tells West’s Citizens,: Your Leaders Have Lost Their Minds
Aug. 7—Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin gave a sharp warning Aug. 6 on the "tragic consequences" that the U.S. and the EU are creating through NATO deployments. The previous day, on August 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin had held a meeting with the Federal Assembly leaders, State Duma Speaker Volodin and Federation Council Speaker Senator Valentina Matviyenko, addressing the legislative sessions that had just ended. (The Federal Assembly, working with Putin, had crafted 331 laws, primarily on social and economic matters, but also on security and defense issues.)
Volodin posted on Telegram, as TASS translated: “As Washington and Brussels coordinate the military operation in Ukraine, posing a threat to Russia’s security, parliaments and citizens in the United States and the European Union should understand that their leaders who have lost their minds may lead the world to tragic consequences.”
He began his post with the reminder that Aug. 6 is the 79th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the United States remains the only country that has used nuclear weapons. And then stated: “U.S. methods don’t change as time goes by. They have turned Ukraine into a bridgehead for war against our country. And they have extended NATO infrastructure to Asian regions against China, as they deliver missile strikes on peaceful Iranian cities.”
However, he stressed in his conclusion, the most up-to-date weapons Russia has lately developed are a deterrent to any aggressor and show Russia has a significant advantage over the United States
