Schiller Paris Conference Panel One: Responding to the Cry of the People

Nov. 10—The French Solidarité et Progrès party opened its international two-day conference on Nov. 8-9 in Paris under the theme: “Respond to the Cry of the People,” on Saturday morning, Nov 8. Panel moderator Sébastien Périmony called on people not to accept the world as it is, but to fight for its substantial improvement. He introduced the first speaker, S & P leader Jacques Cheminade, as having already changed France through his three Presidential campaigns (1995, 2012, and 2017.)

Cheminade spoke on the theme, “Time To Change Your Thinking,” as something crucial to pull the world out of the financial-economic collapse crisis and the threat of nuclear war. Geopolitics is based on the ideology of enmity between two positions, this is going back to Aristotle, as does the fake concept of evil and good being part of the same—this is wrong: Evil only grows in the absence of the good; the growth of the good removes evil. This conference is designed to catalyze not only France, but also the world, which needs leaders who see things with the eyes of the future. Seen with the eyes of the present, with 12,000 nuclear warheads that could be fired at the slightest warning, there is not much hope; but the problems cannot, as Einstein said, be solved in the terms or on the level at which the problems were posed. The solution has to come from a change of thinking.

A new paradigm is building that gives hope, with leaders like Russia's Putin, Brazil's Lula, and China's Xi, who are building it through the BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Group of 77; the new paradigm is based on the development of humanity defying all pre-established protocols. It is based on the courage of sovereign individuals not to allow automatisms that will only lead to catastrophe, like the two Russians and one American who decided, in 1962 and 1983, not to obey the “red alert” automatic mechanisms that would have triggered an imminent nuclear strike. A human error would have triggered nuclear war already then, but the greatest human error would have been a lack of courage to think in opposition to the procedures. Threatened by geopolitical automatisms today, nuclear war can only be prevented by initiatives like those discussed in the International Peace Coalition, by new concepts outside of those that are being offered by institutions whose incompetence has driven the world to where it is right now. The dominant ideology claiming that there is incompatibility of contradictory things must be replaced by the coincidence of opposites—as Cusa formulated it 600 years ago, and Helga Zepp-LaRouche has done it in the past 40 years.

A “higher hypothesis” is required for a new way of thinking. This does not come through Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is useful for some applications, but is not a substitute for creative thinking by creative human minds. AI is used to indoctrinate people, particularly the young generation, making them dependent, and degrading them to lower levels than their potential deserves. The use of AI in the military sphere can create enormous problems for mankind, if AI tells you “go to war.” It is similar with AI being wrongly used in the economic-financial sphere, for financial profit alone, turning the latter into an ever-hungry machine, a Great Deadly Game, ignorant of what mankind needs to be human. Present-day leaders in politics and finances are like Icarus, trying to get to the Sun of power with unfit devices that will only destroy mankind, destroying themselves in the same process. This is what Lyndon LaRouche addressed with his “Triple Curve.”

What the world needs, instead, is the flow of resources, not into bubbles, but into great projects—Bering Strait Tunnel, Kra Canal, Lake Chad, Inga Dam, Messina Bridge, Oasis Plan—that are based on constructive creativity improving human life. Look at what China has achieved in just 30 years. Mobilize like never before, hard work can achieve anything.

Two questions were posed to Cheminade after his presentation: 1) Why did the oligarchy not want him? and 2) What about the cryptocurrency? In his response to 1, Cheminade explained that the oligarchy was cheating to fix the presidency of its candidates and considered Cheminade an “unknown troublemaker.” Even the FBI intervened, telling the French to go against him because he supported LaRouche. As for question 2, Cheminade laid out that crypto is an invention of the dollar system, to keep the system going by using methods that were leading to the system’s collapse (and still do).

A Global Candidates' Movement

Next on the panel were presentations of S&P and LaRouche Movement election candidates: Odile Mojon (10th French district) elaborated on the importance of her campaign for the French voters abroad, which belong to the global majority having an interest in development; Benoit Odille (5th district) pointed out that people cannot live with the oligarchy in power which controls everything to the disadvantage of the citizens. The oligarchy is disinterested in industry and science. Their controlled system, which favors empty narratives and not ideas, has to be replaced by citizens’ creativity, new ideas and open debates.

Jose Vega (Bronx, USA) presented his candidacy for Congress as something in a global context in the tradition of early 18th-century Americans like Samuel Morse, James Fenimore Cooper, and Edgar Poe, who visited and lived in Paris to make contact with the new ideas needed by the young American Republic—some of that was reflected in Morse’s painting “The Gallery of the Louvre.” The Paris visits were motivated by the interest of building a society incorporating the best of all cultures.

A Revolutionary Moment

LaRouche Organization president Diane Sare, a former U.S. Senate candidate and a possible Presidential hopeful, concluded the speakers list on the first panel with a presentation on the ongoing international “revolutionary” stirring of young minds, characterized by a lot of turbulent developments, fights and challenges, like those that have been in the background of the mayoral election of Democrat Zohran Mamdani in New York. Massive interferences by the Zionist lobby at numerous levels of politics to secure U.S. support for Netanyahu’s genocide in Gaza made many people, including many Jewish people in New York City, very angry. So Mamdani, a Muslim immigrant, whose family is from Africa, got elected—with Mamdani, an avowed democratic socialist, receiving 33% of the Jewish vote. Lesson: Although the Zionist lobby, on the surface, succeeded in crushing the anti-genocide movement of New York students, the payback occurred when they and their supporters “retreated” to the electoral process. About 100,000 campaign volunteers, working for Mamdani, knocking on 3 million doors, prevailed. There are many also in the Trump camp who have begun to say that they have been betrayed—that instead of “Make American Great Again,” Trump’s own supporters see his policy increasingly as “Make Greater Israel Again.”

The country is once again approaching a revolutionary moment. It needs real new leaders and not the idiots that are in power now, including those that pumped $50 billion into the Wall Street banks last Friday to prevent chaos. New leaders have to respect Truth, to become true leaders, to end war, to focus on the real enemies that prevent mankind from developing its creative potential—the enemies being poverty, disease, fear and war. A video clip showing LaRouche in a 2008 Washington, D.C. speech was shown, in which he developed the concept of the higher principles enabling different views and different cultures to work for the common good, working “for the benefit of the other” as written in the 1648 Peace Treaty of Westphalia.

Sare then pointed out that these were the challenges confronting the founders of the United States 250 years ago, namely: How to create a government which offers the human individual the best possibility to develop his/her mind and contribute to the future of humanity as a whole? The stupidity that prevails today has to be replaced by a movement for truth, a “Learned Ignorance Campaign” in the tradition of Cusa’s writing “On Learned Ignorance.” This is the method of rigorously searching for the better, of mastering the process of “better perfection,” of becoming successively less imperfect, of learning to think about things not known before. Don’t wait for the mid-terms or next Presidential election, begin this campaign right now.
