Scott Ritter’s Home Raided by FBI, NY State Police

Aug. 8—The New York state home of the outspoken former Marine intelligence officer and UN Weapons inspector Scott Ritter, an outspoken critic of Global NATO's war policies, was raided mid-day on August 7 by the FBI and New York State Police based on a search warrant regarding his potential violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Electronic devices were the particular focus, with an eye to prying into his communications. As of this point, he has not been arrested nor charged with any crime.

Thie raid is intended to have a chilling effect on what remains of free speech in the United States.

Ritter, earlier this year was not allowed by the State Department to board a plane for a conference in Russia, where he was a featured speaker, and instead was forced to address the conference by video.

Last night, Ritter posted a statement on the raid. “Today, the U.S. government declared war on me,” he said.

This is breaking story, and more details will be published as they become available
