Source: Key to Peace—Take from British Israeli Hand Grenade
April 9—With the fragile ceasefire in Iran entering its second day, even as Israeli forces continue to pound Hezbollah in Lebanon, a source with more than 50 years of diplomatic experience in the region says that the key to peace is to remove the Israeli hand grenade from play by the British. This, the source said, will require regime change not in Tehran but in Jerusalem—because the Netanyahu government is content to serve as a destabilizing force for the British, using violence and war to prevent peace and development.
A British-Israeli Role in Fueling the Iran War
"The war in Iran was not Donald Trump's war," said the source. "He was brought along for the ride by the Israelis, who continue to try to drive Iran back to the Stone Age—to remove Iran as a potential positive force and opposition to the geopolitical manipulations of the British, who have run the region for more than a century by pitting nations, religions, and civilizations against each other. The British Empire as a military power is a joke. But as a force for psychological warfare and manipulation—even of the United States—it remains the pre-eminent master, controlling the geopolitical chessboard."
"From a geopolitical standpoint," the source continued, "the Middle East, or Southwest Asia, sits at the crossroads of all key global trade routes and serves as a major source of energy. It is integrated into the dollar-based speculation system run by London. With the rise of the Global South—the actual global majority—and the creation of the powerful BRICS alliance, suddenly London's power is challenged. Several countries in the region, including Iran, are BRICS members or associates pulling for a new global economic architecture."
A War Against the Emerging Global Majority
"The war in Iran is a war against this emerging force," said the source. "It is also a war against the real interests of the United States. You throw the Israeli 'hand grenade' at Iran and its proxies, and the U.S. stupidly follows. In an instant, you’re in a deadly war against a 5,000-year Persian civilization that has done more for human progress than the degenerate British Empire. If you’re London, you want this senseless war to last as long as possible. You want world trade, especially energy, disrupted. You want death and destruction on a massive scale."
"But the BRICS and the Global South have something to say about this," the source explained. "It was they who worked out the ceasefire and possible peace deal—not the United States or Israel. It helped that Trump, despite his bellicose rhetoric, wants out of Iran. And Trump was able to force London’s Israeli asset, Prime Minister 'Bibi' Netanyahu, to accept the ceasefire deal—which Bibi is still trying to blow up."
The Regional Development Solution: The Oasis Plan
The source said that the pathway toward peace must now involve a coherent regional development perspective that can bring in all nations of the region, as well as the U.S. and BRICS nations such as Russia and China. That plan, the source explained, is the extended Oasis Plan for regional water and power development, put forward by the Schiller Institute—a plan requiring cooperation rather than conflict.
"And that's the key," said the source. "It involves Israelis working with their neighbors, using their expertise in making the desert bloom. You have Israelis—not Bibi's cronies—sitting down with Arabs and Persians, treating each other with respect and solving problems. This is how you overcome years of brainwashing and manipulated stereotypes."
The source recalled that in the mid-1970s, the Shah of Iran had envisioned a similar development initiative that would have included the Israelis. Preliminary discussions included the pooling of dollar resources to fund shared infrastructure projects—precursors to today’s Oasis Plan concept. "And with positive progress between Israel and the Palestinians under Jimmy Carter," the source said, "it just might have had some legs."
London’s Continued Sabotage of Peace
"So, what happened?" the source asked. "London was not amused. They deployed their master geopolitician, Jimmy Carter’s national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, to organize the overthrow of their own asset, the Shah. And that plan was murdered."
The British imperial interests have no intention of letting the fragile Persian Gulf ceasefire open a path to lasting peace. That was clear in an April 8 interview—barely 15 hours after the ceasefire began—when former MI6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove told Rupert Murdoch’s TalkTV that the ceasefire would not hold.
Asked if he believed the truce would last, Dearlove said flatly, “No.” He dismissed it as “just another chapter in a long-running dispute… It’s a ceasefire, and only for two weeks, and the conditions the Iranians are asking for are unacceptable to the U.S. So we’ll see where it goes.”
Dearlove justified Trump’s earlier threats to “obliterate” Iran, claimed that Iran “had blinked” in the face of American might, and dismissed Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s claim that “this is not the U.K.’s war,” declaring, “Of course we are involved; it’s our war.” He called for rebuilding Britain’s military strength—even at the expense of the National Health Service—and said the U.K. must again become a major defense power.
The British Empire’s Hand Revealed—and a Warning for Trump
Dearlove, who headed MI6 from 1999 to 2004 during Tony Blair’s premiership, played a central role in the wars that followed 9/11. For decades, he has embodied the British “Clash of Civilizations” policy, using Israel’s extremist leadership as his political proxy.
"So this is clear enough that even a dummy might see the connection," the source concluded. "If I were Trump, or if I cared about saving his presidency, I’d jump on the Oasis Plan bandwagon and bring together people from the region with Israelis. Otherwise, people like Dearlove will keep steering events. They don’t win because they’re smart—they succeed because others refuse to stop being stupid, to deadly consequence for the whole world."
