Source: NYT Lies, Trump Still Thinks Iran Attack Will Not Produce Regime Change

Jan. 30--Sources close to the White House denounced reporting in a New York Times article Jan. 27 that President Donald Trump now sees a possible attack on Iran as toppling the regime, based on “intelligence” reports supporting that view, as “total bullshit.”

There has been no change in the assessment given earlier this month, under the direction of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, that a military strike will not topple the regime, but would likely strengthen it, and could trigger a large‑scale war which would also end Trump’s peace plan in Gaza and his efforts to stabilize the whole region. “The President also knows the truth about the so‑called ‘peaceful protestors,’ which were allegedly ‘massacred’ by the regime,” a source reported today. “The protests that took place from Jan. 8 onward were directed and fueled by Israeli agents who were handing out weapons and $100USD bills to unemployed youth. This was an armed insurrection, led and directed by the Zionists. While the President did not want to see the great loss of life, he is also committed to doing things that would save Iran, not send it into a spiral of violence and chaos that would destroy the nation.”

NYT Claims Iranian Government Is Weakening

Trump has received multiple U.S. intelligence reports indicating that the Iranian government’s position is weakening, The New York Times reported Jan. 27, citing “several people familiar with the information.” “These reports signal that the Iranian government’s hold on power is at its weakest point since the shah was overthrown in the 1979 revolution,” The Times claims.

“Protests that erupted late last year, according to the reports, shook elements of the Iranian government, especially as they reached into areas of the country that officials thought were strongholds of support for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader,” the Times goes on. “While the protests have died down, the government remains in a difficult position. Intelligence reports have repeatedly highlighted that in addition to the protests, Iran’s economy is historically weak.”

Trump’s “Armada” Post and Nuclear Deal Pressure

When it was pointed out that Trump was making ominous threats against the mullahs and spoke about the “great armada” moving toward Iran, implying that he was prepared to use force, the source urged that the second part of that social media post by Trump be read, which does not refer to the riots or deaths, but talks of the need for Iran to conclude the nuclear deal now.

“A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose,” Trump wrote. “It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela. Like with Venezuela, it is ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary. Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal—NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS—one that is good for all parties. Time is running out, it is truly of the essence!”

This is how Trump plays the negotiating game, the source said. “The threats are part of it. He knows that Iran is prepared to negotiate, the contacts have been made with [Special Envoy Steve] Witkoff and discussions will likely begin soon. The Iranians answer the threats vociferously, but they are talking to Witkoff, and they appear prepared to finish the deal.”

Sources Blame Israeli Actions for Derailing Earlier Talks

A source with decades of experience in the region says that there would have already been a deal if the Israelis had not staged those riots, and then the Zionist/NATO propaganda machine had not cranked out stories about the massacre of “peaceful protestors.” He said that Trump was induced by people supporting the Butcher of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, to call off the talks until the killing and reported mass executions—which were never going to take place—ceased. The source reported that Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are working to put the meeting back together.

According to this and other sources, the Iranians have signaled that they are now willing to compromise on what had been the biggest sticking point—the question of uranium enrichment. These sources say that they may now be willing to accept the plan of the Russians operating a regional enrichment facility, under UN supervision, which would provide fuels for reactors and medical and other research isotopes. The Russians would also be involved in holding Iran’s existing stockpile of enriched uranium.

Military Analysts Warn Against Misjudging Iran’s Capabilities

Tehran is waiting for a sign that the proposed talks are not some kind of trick to catch the Iranians off guard and then strike them, as was done at the start of the 12‑day war last year. “That caused a great deal of distrust of Trump,” said a source.

Intelligence specialists in the region say it would be absurd for any of the military planners to think that Tehran will ever lower their guard again. “I hope they understand that we are not dealing with Venezuela here,” said another source. “This is a highly capable, well‑armed country, with a respected military fighting force of regular forces and the 4‑million‑member Revolutionary Guard, which is and will always be loyal to the mullahs. They will not be defeated or even crippled by an air strike or multiple strikes. And they have some of the most advanced missiles and drones in the region. Their missiles could and will overwhelm Israel’s Iron Dome defenses, as was shown in the last go‑around. If we go to war, it will have to be a ground war and the casualties will be staggering, including the U.S. and Zionists.”

Iran’s UN mission responded by reminding Trump of the costs of previous U.S. regime‑change wars. “Last time the U.S. blundered into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it squandered over $7 trillion and lost more than 7,000 American lives,” it said on X. “Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—BUT IF PUSHED, IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF AND RESPOND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!”
