Trump Losing Patience with Zelenskyy Who Does Not Want to End War

Aug. 27—President Donald Trump has lost what little patience he had left for NATO's Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy, sources close to the White House report.

Last week, in a one-on-one meeting with Zelenskyy prior to a broader meeting at the White House with NATO's European leadership, sources report that Trump had gotten the Ukrainian to agree to a simple agenda for a proposed meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The agenda accepted that Ukraine would not join NATO but would nonetheless receive ironclad security guarantees from NATO states, including the United States; that Ukraine and Russia would discuss "land for peace" concessions, which would define future temporary border status without precluding future negotiations; that Ukraine would agree to lift all legal restrictions on Russian language use; and that Ukraine would be free to join the European Union. With all this under discussion, the two leaders would agree to an immediate ceasefire in place, halting all fighting and barring efforts for troop and other reinforcements.

"Make no mistake, Zelenskyy agreed to this agenda," said a source. "It was on this basis that Trump called Putin and asked him to meet with the Ukrainian leader. Trump knew that Putin was skeptical about Zelenskyy's power to sign a final agreement, since his term of office expired last May and he has ruled under emergency decree. The President said that could be dealt with later, that the peace process should move forward, as he and Putin had discussed in Anchorage [at the summit]. Putin agreed to meet if Zelenskyy agreed to the Trump-stated agenda."

Zelenskyy’s Reversal

But then, under the sway of his NATO puppet masters, Zelenskyy backtracked on every agreement he made with Trump on the agenda, repeating his mantra about never giving up on joining NATO, nor conceding "one inch" of Ukrainian soil to the Russian invaders, and stating that he still believed Ukraine would win its war—something Trump and all sane people know NATO has long ago lost.

Speaking on the occasion of Ukraine’s independence day Aug. 24, Zelenskyy rejected calls from President Trump to give up territorial claims as part of a peace deal. Naming Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea, he said that “all of this is Ukraine … and no temporary occupation can alter that.”

“It is only a matter of time,” he prognosticated. “And Ukraine believes it can achieve this—secure peace, peace across its entire land. Ukraine is capable of it.”

But these preposterous statements were just the beginning. “Ukraine … has restored the unity of Europe and the United States and now serves as the foundation of this alliance,” he claimed. “And that is why Ukraine is heard, Ukraine is taken into account, and Ukraine is listened to. Its place is at the table.”

“Today, both the U.S. and Europe agree: Ukraine has not yet fully won, but it will certainly not lose,” said the schwärmer.

Trump's Ultimatum

"Trump is furious," said the source. "It is not Putin who has been the obstacle to peace, but NATO and their little dictator. So, Trump has now said the Ukrainians and the Russians have two weeks to work this out." This and other sources say that Trump is not without recourse in this. For example, the Ukrainian military leadership, which has been forced to put old men and teenagers on front lines, wants the war to end as quickly as possible. If Zelenskyy won't do the job, then these military leaders could move to oust Zelenskyy and his clique, and it might not go well for him.

And then there is the issue of the tens of billions of dollars in U.S. aid—in munitions, weapons systems, and cash—that have, according to reliable reports, "gone missing" and are thought to have been stolen by Zelenskyy and his clique. There are some reports that Trump may have already initiated an investigation of this theft, although the White House will not confirm that. "The President wants this war to end," said the White House source. "Putin wants the war to end. And the Ukrainian people want an end to their slaughter. Trump is not going to let Zelenskyy and his NATO backers prevent that from happening."
