Trump Narrowly Averts Iran Disaster as Saner Heads Prevail
Jan. 17—Sources close to the White House report that President Donald Trump this week narrowly averted the disaster that would have ensued had he authorized military strikes to support Iranian protestors who he was wrongly told were prepared to topple the Iranian regime.
These sources say that the President is now aware that he was to be a victim of a plot by the Butcher of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, to first provoke violence inside Iran and then to sucker Trump into attacking, only to find that such an attack produced chaos and civil war in Iran—chaos the Israelis would spread throughout the region and use to blow up the Trump Peace Plan in Gaza, which Bibi has never supported.
According to these sources, as well as reliable intelligence sources in the region, here is what transpired.
Peaceful Protests Hijacked Into Violent Riots
There were mass demonstrations throughout Iran earlier this month that broke out to protest the collapse of the Iranian currency and worsening economic conditions, demanding that the government address these problems. For the most part, these demos, while large, were peaceful and controlled using unarmed police. The government not only did not attack the demonstrators, but said they supported their just demands.
Meanwhile, the Zionist press sewers, including such rags as Sir Rupert Murdoch’s The New York Post, cranked out stories falsely stating the demos could lead to the toppling of the mullahs and Iran’s theocratic regime. Any sane analyst knew that this was a lie, that there was no credible opposition to the regime, only factions of reformers fighting with hardliners.
The demonstrations started to fizzle out by Jan. 7. It was at this point that Israel, which has literally tens of thousands of assets and agents in Iran, made moves to change what were peaceful demos into violent riots. Sources report that Israeli agents started handing out $100 USD and weapons, mostly to youth, telling them to kill police—who were mostly unarmed—and to “fire things up,” setting fire to cars and property.
In the first night, Jan. 8, these now Israeli‑armed rioters ambushed some local police and slaughtered 35 of them. Iran then mobilized its armed security forces, which properly assessed that they were no longer dealing with peaceful demonstrators, but an armed if uncoordinated rebellion, likely under foreign direction. The security forces were told that they could respond to fire with their own fire. They were given instructions to protect public and private property. The sources report that they were never given “random fire” authorization. Importantly, they were told to disperse any violent demonstrations.
The new riots were much smaller than the previous mass demos. They were mostly young people, comprising several thousand, with a core of several hundred armed but mostly untrained youth. Many of the demonstrators killed were victims of “friendly fire.”
Media Hysteria and Pressure on Trump to Strike
“These were not peaceful demos,” said a source with direct reports from inside Iran. “This was an armed rebellion, and they were dealt with as such by security forces. There were a large number of people killed, in the range of a couple of thousand, but this reality does not reflect the stories of fantastic massacres in the press.
“The size of the demos never really grew after the first night,” said the source. “The Iranian people abhor violence in general, and this was violence coming not from the Iranian people, but produced by foreign agitators. And it was handled by state security forces. There was no deployment of the Revolutionary Guard that I am aware of, despite the ravings in the Zionist media in the West.”
Thousands were arrested, and the Western media's focus turned to their possible rapid conviction and mass executions of the demonstrators/rioters. This is not the government’s method of dealing with such people. Usually there is a period of threats and interrogation, which is how the Iranians have assembled lists of Israeli assets and agents. But these reports were fueled by stupid statements from government officials threatening such actions as a way to tamp down the riots.
All of this poured into the White House, often through sensational and mostly false reports in the media, with little real intelligence or evaluation. Trump was pushed to intervene by Secretary of State Marco “the fool” Rubio, who said that Trump needed to support the Iranian people as he did Venezuelans when he illegally seized their president, Nicolas Maduro. As with Venezuela, a U.S. strike could be swift. Rubio was echoed by the number one warmonger in the Trump team, Stephen Miller. CIA Director John Radcliffe offered little advice, except Israeli intel reports.
Witkoff Urges Caution and Keeps Backchannel Alive
Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff urged caution, stating that he believed the Iranians were now prepared to conclude the long‑delayed nuclear deal, and also warned that any U.S. strike would likely kill the Trump Peace Plan in Gaza.
Trump, as typical, decided to go in both directions, warning that he would strike if Iran killed “peaceful protestors,” but waiting to act until he saw what would further develop.
The Iranians did contact Witkoff and asked for a meeting to discuss a broad range of matters, including the nuclear deal and some agreement to allow peaceful protests. Initially, Witkoff was given the green light to set up a meeting, only to have it cancelled as media reports of “massacres” dominated the international airwaves. Trump warned again that he would act decisively if the killing did not stop or if there were any executions.
Trump had another problem with an Iran strike: the U.S. military, fearing it would trigger a wider war that it was not prepared to fight, was against it. So, they dragged their feet on coming up with suggested plans of action, sources report. It remains unclear if even now they have one they can strongly support, sources report.
Witkoff, meanwhile, while not meeting with the Iranians, maintained contact. High‑ranking members of the government told him what was happening — that these were not peaceful demos but an armed rebellion, with rioters shooting at police and security forces. Regardless, the officials believed that they had broken the back of the riots, and that the killings would cease. There would be no executions.
Trump Steps Back as Situation Stabilizes
Witkoff brought these reports directly to Trump, and two days ago Trump announced that the killings were stopping and would stop completely and that there would be no executions. He said that he had this from the highest levels in Iran, and he hoped it to be true. So far, despite all the hype in the media about the “brave protestors,” the streets are quiet. Still, Trump is urged to intervene, as the Zionist media quotes people saying that the mass brutality and slaughter has intimidated people. Only Trump can reverse that, said among others the discredited son of the former, deposed Shah, who has less than zero support in Iran.
Trump said this morning that the military option is “still on the table,” but he sees no reason to act. Meanwhile, sources report, “Witkoff is going to make that meeting happen. The person who has been surprisingly quiet in all of this is Bibi. Maybe he realizes that he really overplayed his hand here.”
