Trump Shakes Up, Ends Globalist World Order

Dec. 8—As the smoke begins to clear, following the Trump administration’s release of what can rightfully be termed its “revolutionary” 2025 National Security Strategy (NSS) Dec. 4, it is becoming obvious that it has already shattered the existing Globalist world order that emerged in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union. In European capitals and in the Brussels NATO leadership, the handwriting had been on the wall since the beginning of this second Trump administration that the U.S., under Trump, was walking away from the push for confrontation with Europe’s Russian boogeyman and NATO's "blank-check" support for the dangerous and senseless slaughter in Ukraine.

But with the release of the NSS, these fears became NATO’s worst nightmare, as it effectively declares NATO and its adjunct, the European Union, as adversaries of U.S. interests, which are now defined as re-establishing productive relations with Russia, while containing increasing Chinese influence, and through superpower diplomacy, seeking peace, prosperity, and the security of sovereign nations across the Eurasian landmass, and by extension throughout the rest of the world. In this new world order, in which the United States seeks not domination but peace and security, NATO and the EU are already dead artifacts of a past in which the Globalists of Europe used the United States to impose their will and their false policies, such as carbon reduction, on the world.

Colby’s Role in Drafting the NSS

The NSS was crafted by a team led by Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby, who, sources report, has said that he sees no useful purpose for NATO in its present form and has been outspoken in his identification of NATO and Ukrainian puppet dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy—and not Russia—as the obstacles to peace in Ukraine. These sources say that Colby, the son of former CIA Director William Colby, pushed for the release of the strategy now, so as to weaken Europe’s ability to sabotage President Donald Trump’s peace initiative, now under negotiation. Colby, said these sources, shares Trump’s view that NATO’s expansion eastward intentionally provoked Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “special military operation” in Ukraine and that this was done to draw Russia into a proxy war with NATO that its leadership believed would destroy the Russian economy and bring down Putin. This was done with the support of the Biden White House and the liberals in the policy establishment.

“Bridge thinks these people are dangerous lunatics, as are the neo-cons in Congress and the Trump-verse,” said a source. “The new policy for the United States would leave these people out in the cold. The Warsaw Pact went out the window with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Now, we need to put a pillow over NATO. What emerges after this needs to be worked out. The Russians have already brought this up with Trump. They call it a ‘new security and development’ architecture, in which former adversaries work together for peace and economic prosperity.”

Immediate Way Forward in the NSS

The immediate way forward is laid out in the NSS. Much to the chagrin of NATO and the EU, it says:

“European allies enjoy a significant hard power advantage over Russia by almost every measure, save nuclear weapons. As a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine, European relations with Russia are now deeply attenuated, and many Europeans regard Russia as an existential threat. Managing European relations with Russia will require significant U.S. diplomatic engagement, both to reestablish conditions of strategic stability across the Eurasian landmass, and to mitigate the risk of conflict between Russia and European states.

“It is a core interest of the United States to negotiate an expeditious cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, in order to stabilize European economies, prevent unintended escalation or expansion of the war, and reestablish strategic stability with Russia, as well as to enable the post-hostilities reconstruction of Ukraine to enable its survival as a viable state.

“The Trump Administration finds itself at odds with European officials who hold unrealistic expectations for the war perched in unstable minority governments, many of which trample on basic principles of democracy to suppress opposition. A large European majority wants peace, yet that desire is not translated into policy, in large measure because of those governments’ subversion of democratic processes.”

But this does not occur in isolation. NATO, in reality, is the enforcement arm of a global financial elite centered in the City of London, but includes nodes in Paris, Brussels, Geneva, and of course, Wall Street. The policy of provoking war in Ukraine to destabilize Russia was intended to weaken the ability of Russia, with its ally China, to promote an anti-looting global alliance for development, the BRICS, which has blocked the financial elite’s efforts to further loot and depopulate the Global South, to prop the trans-Atlantic dominated and centered global financial system, which is collapsing under the weight of its indebtedness. To this moment, the U.S. still serves the interests of this financial elite, in enforcing their policies on the rest of the globe.

China, BRICS, and Strategic Balance

Other parts of the NSS deal with addressing the rise of a sovereign economic superpower, China, and its ability to assert its influence, including through the BRICS, around the world. China is not mentioned by name as a threat or adversary of the United States, but its spreading influence is clearly regarded as a threat to U.S. interests, though to be dealt with by non-military, but threatening means.

The NSS seeks a concerted effort by the U.S. and its allies to rebalance trade and to force China to devote more to civilian economic production and less to its military. This thinking is also reflective of Colby, but the lack of making a point to militarily challenge China also reflects Trump’s belief that these issues can be settled between himself and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Trump Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine

The NSS makes a point of reasserting U.S. hegemony in its “own backyard”—the Western Hemisphere—which Trump’s neo-con opponents call a retreat from the Russian threat to Europe, which the NSS makes clear is not as important as Europe’s threat to its own civilization.

The document establishes a “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine. “After years of neglect, the United States will reassert and enforce the Monroe Doctrine to restore American preeminence in the Western Hemisphere, and to protect our homeland and our access to key geographies throughout the region. We will deny non-Hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets, in our Hemisphere. This ‘Trump Corollary’ to the Monroe Doctrine is a common-sense and potent restoration of American power and priorities, consistent with American security interests.” The “non-Hemispheric competitors” are really only China.

It thus targets economic relations between China and the countries of the Western Hemisphere. “Non-Hemispheric competitors have made major inroads into our Hemisphere, both to disadvantage us economically in the present, and in ways that may harm us strategically in the future. Allowing these incursions without serious pushback is another great American strategic mistake of recent decades.

“The United States must be preeminent in the Western Hemisphere as a condition of our security and prosperity—a condition that allows us to assert ourselves confidently where and when we need to in the region. The terms of our alliances, and the terms upon which we provide any kind of aid, must be contingent on winding down adversarial outside influence—from control of military installations, ports, and key infrastructure to the purchase of strategic assets broadly defined.”

Here, Trump continues to reflect the fears of the global financial establishment and Wall Street of Chinese or BRICS intervention in the Americas limiting their ability to loot the region. But those interventions need not be to the disadvantage of U.S. interests. Sources report that when next Trump meets with Xi, the Chinese leader is going to offer a plan for joint participation in development projects, for the benefit of all concerned—but not Wall Street and the City of London.

America First and Defining National Interests

The Trump Administration and its State Department have already tried to threaten nations who want to participate in the development universe created by the BRICS and China’s Belt & Road Initiative, with limited success. And then there is the question of how the United States will handle BRICS founding member Brazil, an emerging economic superpower with vast potential. Brazil has already shown its unwillingness to bow to Washington’s dictates, but also a willingness to make reasonable deals.

And then, of course, the proclamation of the NSS as a strategy that puts America First, placing its interests as the paramount goal of any national strategy. “But that begs the question of exactly what its interests are,” said a security intelligence source. “For Trump, it’s one thing. For the Neo-Cons, it is something else. This NSS says those interests are no longer congruent with NATO and the EU. As for the rest, they are going to have to be debated. And that is a good thing to do, in this coming year, the 250th since our declaration of independence from the British Empire. We are a country borne of the greatest revolution in history. Our interests must be shaped by the values for which we fought for our independence. Life, liberty—and not property—but the pursuit of happiness, by which we mean the continuous ability of man to perfect himself, in accordance with universal principles, which we seek to discover. We are people committed to discovery and explorations and not ideologies. At each moment, we must discover our national interests."
