Trump Under Renewed Pressure from Fake Israeli Massacre Figures to Hit Iran
Jan. 25—President Donald Trump is coming under renewed pressure to authorize strikes on Iran, as figures coming from Israeli intelligence‑linked sources claim that Tehran slaughtered as many as 30,000 “protesters” in two days, Jan. 8–9. Sources close to the White House say that the President continues to resist those arguing for intervention, in large part because he does not think that a U.S. strike could topple the mullahs, and may in fact strengthen them.
A report by The Jerusalem Post today, citing Time magazine and purported Iranian hospital data, said as many as 30,000 people may have been killed in Iran during a two‑day crackdown on protests.
Time reported today that two senior Iranian Health Ministry officials told the magazine as many as 30,000 people may have been killed nationwide during the Jan. 8–9 crackdown. And a separate compilation of hospital data shared with Time listed 30,304 deaths as of Friday, Jan. 9. Time admitted that these figures could not be verified.
Conflicting Death Tolls Add to the Confusion
Iranian state media reported Jan. 21 that 3,117 people were killed during the unrest, citing a statement carried by Press TV and attributed to the Martyrs Foundation. They said about 2,400 were civilians and security personnel; the remaining 700 were not identified. In addition, there are also reports of more than 25,000 arrests.
Time noted that if the internal estimates are accurate, the killings would be among the deadliest mass shootings in a comparable time span in modern records, drawing a comparison to the Babyn Yar massacre in Nazi‑occupied Ukraine, where the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum says 33,771 Jews were murdered over two days, Sept. 29–30, 1941.
Trump Briefed That Violence Was an Israeli‑Driven Insurrection
Trump was briefed in real time that the Jan. 8–9 demonstrators were not peaceful protests, but an armed insurrection directed and armed by Israeli agents that aimed for regime change but was defeated by the Iranians. He has also received intelligence from American sources that the Iranian people did not and do not support the rioters, who fired on police and security forces, as well as their own demonstrators.
“A bloody mess,” was how it was described, sources report, who also said that Trump has been told that Israel wants to trigger chaos in Iran and a wider war in the region.
Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has remained in touch with the Iranians, who have signaled their desire to renew meetings with the U.S. to finalize the deal that will end Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Witkoff has said that he believes the Iranians when they tell him that the violent riots have been suppressed, and that there will be no further killings or executions.
Sources Describe How Peaceful Protests Turned Into Armed Riots
A source with decades of contacts and experience in the region has reported the following: that the mass demos prior to Jan. 8 were peaceful and had the support of the Iranian people, and were focused on getting the government to do something about worsening economic conditions and the collapse of the Iranian currency; the government expressed support for the demos.
But on Jan. 8, all this changed, as known Israeli agents and assets began handing out $100 USD to mostly unemployed teens, handing them a gun or rifle and telling them to kill police and security personnel. They did that, bringing out other mostly young people for a violent rampage that destroyed property and killed security personnel and others. It was at this point that additional armed security was brought to the various riot scenes and told to quash this insurrection using all methods necessary. Fire from the rioters was returned, and death tolls mounted into the several thousands. In two days, with the mass arrests of known Israeli agents, the situation was brought back under control.
Warnings That Intervention Would Destroy Trump’s Gaza Plan
Trump would be making a terrible mistake if he intervenes now, said the source. “It could plunge the whole region into war, and would certainly wreck Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, which is entering its phase 2, which Bibi [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] does not support.
"And Iran would hurl missiles at Israel and U.S. bases and forces. No, the play here is to ignore the propaganda and pursue the diplomacy that could in fact yield long‑desired results. But Trump is surrounded by fools who push for war whenever and wherever it can be had. But on this, the war hawks are opposed by the military command that does not want a war with Iran, or anyone else in the region.”
Expect this to intensify as a new carrier battlegroup appears on the scene, said the source, “but in the end, I think Trump will steer clear of a war for which there is no quick end, and which would undermine his other project in the region — the Gaza peace plan.”
