Ukraine Military, Tired of Endless, Losing War Seeks Zelenskyy Replacement: Sources

March 16—Sources in the U.S. intelligence community report that sections of the Ukrainian military leadership, tired of following the orders of NATO's Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy to continue what is already a war that has been lost on the battlefield, are now scheming to replace the "commander in chief." These sources say the military leaders have come to the conclusion that the war will not end unless what they believe is the main obstacle to peace—Zelenskyy—is removed from power.

The military leaders, who include battlefield commanders, are working with Ukrainian politicians and reportedly considering a bloodless coup that would remove Zelenskyy and allow him and his supporters to leave the country, while installing a temporary civilian-military leadership that would negotiate a peace deal with the Russians and the Americans. Elections would be held within 100 days of the cessation of hostilities.

One man whose name comes up as a possible replacement for Zelenskyy is the former commander in chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces , Valerii Zaluzhnyi, whom Zelenskyy fired and made ambassador to London and who has told people he would sign a peace deal with Russia that cedes territory.

Growing Rift Between Kyiv and Its Allies

They are not working directly with the Trump Administration on this project, but the sources report that the White House has not attempted to defend Zelenskyy—nor would they ever, a source reported.

Zelenskyy is reportedly aware of the plotting but no longer has the power to remove powerful military leaders, especially if he has no support from the U.S. He has asked for support from NATO and his friends in Europe, such as British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, but finds them under attack in their own countries and wanting to steer clear of the unpopular Ukrainian leader.

"The military has all the cards to play," said a source. "Zelenskyy's regime is massively corrupt, and the people closest to him have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar already. When his powerful Chief of Staff Yermak was forced out late last year, he said he was prepared to give evidence on Zelenskyy's involvement in corrupt dealings—including the profits he made from Ukraine's vigorous black market in the sale of American and NATO weapons to terrorists and drug cartels."

Military Leaders Push for Negotiated Peace

Key military figures, the source reports, see no reason to fight on, as that will only bring more defeats on the battlefield. But there can be no peace deal unless Ukraine cedes a small part of the Donbass to Russia—something they believe Moscow will win in the weeks and months ahead on the battlefield. Zelenskyy has refused to give up any land, which has stalemated Trump-brokered peace talks with Russia.

Trump, in recent statements and posts, has blamed the Ukrainian dictator—not Russian President Vladimir Putin—for the failure to reach a deal to end the senseless NATO-provoked slaughter.

Trump Pressures Kyiv to Compromise

Sources close to the White House say that Trump will refuse to continue to supply the Ukrainians with weapons through NATO and Europe to keep the war going, although he has not said this yet. Trump has demanded that Zelenskyy compromise; if he does not, then his fate will have been caused by his own "stupidity." The next round of talks with the Russians, which have not yet been scheduled, will be critical in showing whether Zelenskyy “has gotten the message,” a source stated.
