Under Trump-Xi Agreements, U.S. Commerce Department Arranges Visits by Chinese Entrepreneurs
Dec. 7—At a press conference held by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, CCPIT Spokesperson Yang Fan announced last month that, in collaboration with the U.S. Commerce Department, the CCPIT has organized a series of business exchange activities with the U.S. side. These include the 2025 Dialogue on Health Economy and Innovation Development and a U.S.-China catering industry cooperation and exchange meeting. In December the CCPIT and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a delegation of companies from a wide range of sectors, including agriculture and food, machinery and electronics, financial services, cross-border trade, logistics and transportation, and biomedicine.
They will have discussions with their U.S. counterparts and will introduce China’s new measures to uphold high-quality development and high-level opening to the outside world. The CCPIT has been active in the U.S. since 1975, but there has been little or no activity from them during the last few years of semi-frozen relationships. This new development has been brought about by the agreements reached between the two Presidents in their recent meeting in Busan.
