Weak Biden, Stupid Harris Won’t Push Ceasefire/Hostage Deal to Finish Bibi
Aug. 31—Israel’s negotiating team flew home from Doha yesterday, with the chances for a ceasefire/hostage release deal seemingly slipping away again. Sources familiar with the negotiations say that all that is now preventing a deal which would end the Butcher of Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu’s slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza, and prevent his further extension of death and destruction to the West Bank is one of his so-called red lines—the demand for an Israeli military presence along Gaza’s border with Egypt and at the Rafah crossing—something Israeli intelligence and the leadership of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say is not necessary for Israel’s security.
The team, headed by Mossad Director David Barnea and Shin Bet Director Ronan Bar, both of whom believe that the deal, in its latest draft worked out by America’s chief negotiator, CIA Director William Burns and his Egyptian and Qatari counterparts, should be signed by Israel to get the peace process moving before Bibi can get a full-scale war going in the West Bank against Hezbollah, who has said that they would withdraw to positions north of the Litani River in Lebanon, as specified by UN Security Council Resolution 1701 of Aug. 2006, and would cease hostilities in order to negotiate for a political settlement.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Bibi’s co-evil, murderous twin who ordered the Oct. 7, 2023 assault on Israel that slaughtered more than 1,200 civilians, wounded nearly 4,000 others, and took more than 240 hostages, and which gave Netanyahu the needed excuse to unleash his genocide against the Gazan Palestinians, is reported to also have objections to the deal as written. But Sinwar, who like Bibi desires a wider war and who, like Bibi, is opposed to a two-state solution, will be forced to sign by his military commanders, who view the battle as lost and lack the forces to fight on, as well as by other Hamas leadership linked to its former leader, Ismail Haniyeh, who had led the negotiations until being assassinated July 31 in Tehran on Bibi’s orders.
“The hangup is Bibi, who so far appears to have the political muscle to get his way to sabotage peace,” said a source. “From the beginning of this latest round of talks last month, Burns had worked from a strategy that was not just centered on getting a ceasefire and the hostages released, but also on removing Bibi from office. He [Burns] is not stupid. He knows that there can never be peace in the region, which must ultimately require the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state, as long as Netanyahu rules Israel. So, the plan was to use U.S. muscle to force Bibi to sign. He had convinced that lame chicken, President “Sleepy Joe” Biden to go along with presenting Bibi with a deal that did not have his stupid red lines, and would have the IDF get out of the Philadelphi corridor [all along Gaza’s border with Egypt], a demand not just of Hamas but also of Egypt. He would be told to sign or else. If he didn’t, Biden would denounce Bibi as an enemy of peace and would threaten to cut off military aid to Israel. This would then fuel domestic demands for Bibi to resign, which are already coming from all quarters, including from the families of the hostages. This should have taken place two weeks ago
“Then entered that nasty stupid bitch [Vice President and Democrat Presidential nominee] Kamala Harris, who proceeded to kneecap Burns and his Israeli allies. She convinced her boss, Sleepy Joe to back off, to first delay any deal until the conclusion of her coronation at the Democrat Party convention in Chicago. ‘We need to keep the Israel issue out of the convention,’ she said. Then she told the pathetic Biden, that if he went after Bibi, it would ruin her plan to woo Jewish voters and would give the election to [former President and Republican nominee] Donald Trump. Biden folded like a cheap tent, and Burns was left with no stick to beat Bibi. So, the slaughter continues, the blame for which should be laid at Harris’ feet.”
On Aug. 30, Israel’s cabinet approved the continued presence of IDF forces along the Philadelphi route, sources present at the meeting said, adding that eight cabinet members supported the move, while Defense Minister Yoav Gallant opposed, and the lunatic National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who effectively commands the Nazi-like settlers’ movement and opposes any peace deal, abstained. Ministers said that it was argued at the meeting that this would make a hostage deal more likely, since Hamas would be forced to compromise, just as it had on its demand to end the war. This idiotic position was forwarded by Bibi, who had demanded the vote.
According to sources, Gallant told the cabinet that the choice was between the hostages’ lives or staying in the Philadelphi corridor for six weeks. In response, Netanyahu decided to hold the vote, prompting Gallant to say: “The prime minister can make all the decisions, and he can also decide to kill all the hostages.”
Israeli and foreign officials told Haaretz that Netanyahu’s insistence on keeping Israeli troops along the Philadelphi route is threatening truce negotiations, adding that “the Philadelphi issue affects not only Hamas but also Egypt. There were efforts to find a compromise that would include monitoring measures without the presence of soldiers, but the Israeli declarations make things more difficult.”
In response to the cabinet vote, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum blasted Netanyahu for harming the chances for a deal to return the hostages: “After close to a year of neglect, Netanyahu doesn’t miss a single opportunity to ensure that there won’t be a deal…. In Rafah, the Egyptians are ready for an Israeli presence and have requested a symbolic presence of the Palestinian Authority. For that, they [Bibi and company] will abandon the hostages and sabotage a deal?”
Bibi’s arguments about Israeli military presence is based, as he says, on the idea that Hamas is merely trying to use any ceasefire deal to reinforce its fighters in Gaza, or stated another way, that Hamas is committed to endless war with Israel. “That may be what Sinwar wants,” said another source. “He has said he would be willing to sacrifice a million Palestinians as martyrs, if that can defeat the Jewish state. But this is not what even most of his own leadership supports, let alone the majority of ordinary Palestinians. There are many religious zealots in Israel like Ben-Gvir, and yes, like Bibi, who would exterminate all Palestinians, if they could. But the majority of ordinary Israelis don’t think like that. Thus far, most Israelis have remained silent while Bibi and his fellow messianic zealots slaughter innocent civilians, and assassinate not just military commanders, but peace negotiators, and even Arab citizens of Israel and others who don’t support their racist views. This rot is destroying the Israeli state, and it must be removed from the body politic. Israel will have to purge itself, because a United States, which is run by assets of Global NATO, cannot be relied upon [to do it].
“Cease-fire talks aren’t getting anywhere, because an agreement at this time doesn’t serve the interests of the parties involved—not of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and not of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Those who report time after time about ostensible progress, are falling into the trap of micro-tactical details and ignoring the strategic reality," wrote the respected commentator, Amos Harel, in Haaretz Aug. 30. He concludes that if peace is ever to be achieved, both these co-evil twins have to go.
