With China Hosting Talks, Fatah and Hamas Reportedly Agree to Form Government
July 23—China hosted reconciliation talks in Beijing between the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). The Hamas delegation is headed by its Qatar-based political chief Ismail Haniyeh, while the Fatah representation is led by deputy head Mahmud Alul, according to Fatah sources, AFP reported.
Haaretz reported July 22, citing sources, that Hamas and Fatah agreed that they would jointly form a government in Gaza, without specifying any timeline. The Butcher of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu, sources report, will never accept such an arrangement, with one stating, "Bibi had given Hamas control over Gaza precisely to prevent Fatah and the Palestinian Authority from ruling there, and for unifying rule on the Occupied Territories, as preparation for governing a Palestinian State. Bibi would see every Palestinian dead before he would allow this. But, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) leadership may force his hand—if he survives politically the end to his genocidal rampage in Gaza. They gave said they will refuse to occupy Gaza after the war, meaning that the day after must involve rule and even policing by Palestinians.
"But he has an ace the hole," said the source. His co-evil twin, Y. Sinwar, who runs Hamas in Gaza. He continues to kill Fatah there, even as the Israelis go after Hamas. He has said he will not honor such deals. Bibi should kiss his ass for what he does for him. There are many who suspect that Sinwar is really an asset if not an agent of Netanyahu."
A Global Times Editorial reported July 22: “On April 30 this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that at the invitation of China, representatives of Fatah and Hamas recently came to Beijing for in-depth and candid talks on promoting intra-Palestinian reconciliation, and achieved positive progress. This shows that the wave of reconciliation set off in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to fully restore diplomatic relations in Beijing last Spring is still continuing. Beijing’s unique diplomatic mediation model provides new ideas and positive energy for peace and stability in the Middle East.”
