Zelenskyy Panics, Says Russians Want to Kill Him; Claims Assault on Kyiv Near

May 19—NATO's puppet dictator of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, appears to be panicking as he warned last weekend of Russian plots to kill him and his inner circle, while also claiming that a Russian attack on Kyiv from Belarus is near. Various intelligence sources say that neither report has any substance behind it, and Zelenskyy is trying to deflect attention from internal problems within his regime, which may lead to his near-term ouster in a coup and/or his arrest for involvement in the corruption of his inner circle.

Last week, Zelenskyy's former number 2, Andriy Yermak, who headed his Presidential office until earlier this year when it was revealed that he was involved in a scandal involving military and intelligence contracts, was suddenly arrested and dragged off to prison for 60 days; it had been thought that Yermak had cut a deal that would have allowed him to flee to possibly Israel. Now, sources linked to the corruption probe say that prosecutors want to flip Yermak so that they can get Zelenskyy.

In addition, sources report that charges will also be brought against another Zelenskyy confidant, former Defense Minister and now head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, who sources say has the reputation of "the most corrupt man in Ukraine." Umerov, who headed Zelenskyy's negotiating team with the Russians and the U.S., is said to know where "all the bones are buried" and is said to have evidence of Zelenskyy's knowledge and involvement in the bribe and kickback scandals.

Corruption Probe and Peace Calculations

While both President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agree that Zelenskyy, who has refused to bargain in any "land for peace deal," and has singlehandedly blocked all progress towards the framework for peace worked out between Trump and Putin last summer in Alaska, is the main obstacle to a peace deal, neither has any interest in a hit on the Ukrainian dictator. Both are willing to let things play out, but sources say that the U.S. has been encouraging the corruption probe.

The fastest road towards peace is established if it can be shown that Zelenskyy and his inner circle have kept the war going so that they can enrich themselves. It is not known whether the prosecutors have turned their attention to what is widely alleged—that Zelenskyy's inner circle has run what amounts to the world's largest arms bazaar, selling NATO and U.S. weapons to the highest bidders among drug cartels, terrorist groups, and criminal organizations.

Frontline Reality and Questions About Kyiv

Meanwhile, reliable reports from the frontlines in Ukraine say that nothing has been done to reverse what had been Ukraine's hopeless situation. Two brief Ukrainian counteroffensives have fizzled, as Russia has made up whatever temporary losses and continues to advance.

Putin, these sources report, would prefer not to have to assault Kyiv, where there would be massive civilian casualties. But should such an attack become necessary, they say, the attack would not come through Belarus.
