Sept. 5—Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) passed resolution #13723 Sept. 3 which calls upon foreign parliaments, governments, and international organizations to condemn the killing of Andriy Parubiy, an MP and former Rada Speaker, as an act of political terror by Russia. Since Russia is “engaging in political assassinations,” international partners need “to intensify political, economic and sanctions pressure on Russia as a terrorist state.” However, in this case Ukrainian authorities, who have arrested the assassin, admit they have absolutely no evidence linking him to Russia.

Any parliament, government, or international organization that acts on this baseless resolution will be backing a proud neo-Nazi. Parubiy co-founded the neo-Nazi “Social-National Party of Ukraine” and modeled its flag on the swastika. In 2014, he was the commandant of the Maidan and a coordinator of the Feb. 20, 2014 snipers, whose killings of both Berkut police and demonstrators undermined the peace treaty signed on Feb. 19, 2014.

Yet the man that Ukrainian authorities have arrested, Mykhailo Strelnikov, and who has confessed, stated Sept. 3 that his actions had been in “revenge on the Ukrainian authorities” for the death of his Ukrainian soldier son. Apparently, his son died in battle at Bakhmut and is also missing in action. Asked about the reports that Russian secret services had been blackmailing him, Strelnikov flatly denied them.

Speaking from a glass cage in a Ukrainian courtroom, Strelnikov explained that he had killed Parubiy because he was living “nearby…. If I lived in Vinnytsia, it would have been Petya.” This is likely a reference to the former NATO asset President Petro Poroshenko. From first appearances, Strelnikov was enraged over his son’s dying for no good reason, and said he had acted out of desire for revenge.

While the Ukrainian authorities have been highly motivated to find evidence that the gunman Strelnikov was a Russian agent, they have come up short. So, using the authority of the Rada, they simply assert whatever truth they want put out in the NATO propaganda machine.image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=34&dpx=1&t=1757184792
