Russia Warns Denmark About Its ‘Hostile’ Stance
Sept. 19—Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov Sept. 12 warned Denmark about that nation'’s recent decision to establish a solid rocket fuel production facility for Ukraine’s long-range Flamingo cruise missiles. Fuel manufacturing is slated to begin in December, at a facility to be located near Skrydstrup Air Base in South Jutland, Denmark. It will be operated by the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point.
Zakharova said that since these missiles are “intended to strike deep inside Russia,” Denmark is acting as one of the “sponsors of the terrorist Kyiv regime” by producing components for weapons to be used against civilians in Russia, RT reports.
“This reckless move confirms Copenhagen’s hostile militarist course, which, along with … other countries that are … hostile to Russia, sabotages efforts for a political-diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine crisis,” she added.
The Flamingo is a ground-launched cruise missile developed by Ukraine; it has a 1,150-kg (2,540 lb) warhead and a range of 3,000 km (1,900 miles).
