June 23—The International Peace Coalition, in its meeting No. 55 on June 21, heard and adopted a resolution, proposed as a response to the June 14 peace proposal regarding the Ukraine conflict offered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The resolution was presented by Joachim Bonatz, Vice President of the East German Board of Trustees of Associations (Ostdeutsches Kuratorium von Verbänden (OKV) e.V.) and was called “Declaration of the Presidium of the East German Board of Trustees of Associations on President Putin’s Peace Initiative.” It reads, in part:“We welcome the renewed peace initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, currently presented in his speech at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14, 2024. His peace proposals are based on the vote of the population of the four new regions as well as the multiple votes of the people of Crimea. They are also based on the facts on the battlefield….This peace initiative is based on the continuity of Russia’s desire for peace, which was openly documented to the world in the conclusion and attempted implementation of Minsk-2 as well as in the willingness to negotiate and the treaty that is therefore about to be concluded in spring 2022. Responses from the various sides reveal to the world who the aggressor is, who is constantly escalating, who is indifferent to countless human lives and also what intentions lie behind it.“In view of the suffering caused by war and aggression and the danger of this conflict escalating into a Third World War, broad support for this initiative is an expression of the will of all rational people to survive….. Our contribution is to support the Russian President’s peace initiative in such a way that it gains a broad echo and helps reason to prevail in the interests of humanity. We call on everyone we can reach to do so.”The same group had, more than a year later on March 27, 2023, held a Berlin conference, “Dialogue Instead of Weapons—Nonpartisan Action Against the War,” at which Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute and International Peace Coalition founder had spoken. The IPC, after an extensive discussion among over 250 virtual guests, and a re-reading of the entire Bonatz proposal, fully supported it. The deliberation that went on in that meeting, and the decision to act which followed, has set a new standard. The IPC, involving over 40 nations and consistently convened for 55 weeks, represents what should go on at the United Nations, in American state legislatures, and in other venues, to discover, command and re-produce the mental discipline of self-government, just as the original Continental Congress of the newly-formed United States was required to do. The reality of our current situation must be brought home, and the alternative, the Zepp LaRouche Ten Principles for a New International Strategic and Development Architecture must be adopted now.For the nation of Russia (and the nation of China as well,) reflections on total war—war as an existential threat—occur in a context that should be understood, and appreciated. June 22, 1941 was a date that, as Franklin Delano Roosevelt would say five months later, about December 7, 1941,  the day of a fascist Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, will live in world infamy. It was 83 years ago on June 22 that Adolf Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. Literally tens of millions of Russians—at least 27 million in total (some estimate the number to be over 40 million)—and millions of Germans and other Europeans  would die over the ensuing three years and ten months. In the minds of those that reflect, as in the “Immortal Regiment” ceremonies held in Russia and other parts of the world, including in the United States, the present Ukraine debacle smells of something deeper than a geopolitical mistake, already costing more than a half-million lives, just as the systematic depopulation of Gaza should recall, in the callousness of its execution, something of a deeper, more ominously evil nature as carried out by the Nazis. The vacuous ruminations of the present trans-Atlantic bumper crop of latter-day political geniuses and “chicken hawks” offer no resemblance to what is actually occurring—and therefore no assurance that we are not slipping into a darkness, inch by inch, bit by bit, from which there is no return. The announcement, as described by the Korean News Agency, of the just-signed June 19 “Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the D.P.R.K. (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) and the Russian Federation,” the only such treaty Russia has with any nation in the world, was this: "In case a direct threat of armed invasion is created against any one of the two sides, the two sides shall immediately operate the channel of bilateral negotiations for the purpose of adjusting their stands at the request of any one side and discussing feasible practical measures to ensure mutual assistance for removing the prevailing threat.“In case any one of the two sides is put in a state of war by an armed invasion from an individual state or several states, the other side shall provide military and other assistance with all means in its possession without delay in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and the laws of the D.P.R.K. and the Russian Federation.”The White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby tried to contend, with a straight face, “this agreement is also a sign of Russia’s desperation.”Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, a founding member of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity and of the International Peace Coalition, had something very different to say to the Friday meeting about this. "Wow! This came as a surprise to everyone.  There is a mutual defense treaty now between Russia and North Korea.  How many mutual defense treaties does Russia have? One, between Russia and North Korea. Mutual obligation to come to the aid of the other side, if the other side is attacked.  That is big….“We know, and Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor to the President, knows that Putin gave the North Koreans a very sophisticated ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) a couple of years ago.  It’s not Russia’s most sophisticated one, but it’s the next one down. It can reach every inch of the United States; it has decoys, it has chaff galore. It can be guided into place, and most important, it’s mobile. To be mobile, you have to be solid fuel, it’s solid fuel. Has it been tested? Yes, it’s been tested twice. Now, what does that mean? That means that all this pulling of hair by the New York Times, Financial Times, and everybody—‘Oh, would Russia give sophisticated weaponry to North Korea in a strategic sense?’ Well, be the first to know, folks, they already have. So, what is Putin trying to do? Is he trying to steal the march strategically? He’s trying to deter, for God’s sake….”“Those that refuse to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them,” it is said—but is thermonuclear World War Three repeatable? Perhaps, there are lessons of history that, not learned once, are never repeated, because no one survives, either to make the same mistake, or to tell the future what the doom was that had occurred. Ray McGovern had observed that “What we need to do, is realize that the problem is with us. We’ve identified the enemy: The enemy is us. The deal is out there. The deterrence is there. The only big fly in the ointment is the Presidential election here, other elections elsewhere, in Europe and elsewhere. We, the people, need to stand up, get the truth out, and make sure our politicians don’t bring us to the brink of nonexistence.”After the extensive deliberation, a discussion for more than an hour, and the passage of the OKV measure, Helga Zepp-LaRouche proposed: “I think whatever you do in the next weeks and months is possibly decisive in making the resolution if mankind exists or not, because while there are periods in history when the individual can do very little, I think we are right now at one of these branching points, where the subjective factor is playing a very important role. So, the more mobilization and moral courage you can mobilize, that is really what you should concentrate on.”

June 14—The Schiller Institute’s Wednesday, June 12 Washington, D.C., National Press Club Emergency Press Conference, “The Danger of Nuclear War Is Real, and Must be Stopped,” was, in several ways, highly successful. Panelists Scott Ritter, Col. Richard Black (ret.), Col. Larry Wilkerson (ret.), and Schiller Institute founder and chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche were heard by nearly 2,000 people live, and more than 30,000 over the subsequent 24 hours. Diplomatic embassies and news agencies from around the world attended in person and via social media. At the same time, the war danger which required the emergency press availability to be so hastily organized, is escalating each day, almost by the hour. As the press conference was taking place on June 12, the United States imposed even more sanctions against Russia. Russia later responded by ending transactions at its financial exchanges in United States dollars, euros, or Hong Kong dollars—something that was coming, but has now, thanks to these recent actions taken by the United States, been accelerated. Meanwhile, Russian nuclear-capable (but unarmed) ships, (four in all), including the Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov and the nuclear-powered submarine missile cruiser Kazan, visited the nation of Cuba, on what was referred to by United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan as “something we’ve seen before.”Was Sullivan referring to October 1962 {Cuban Missiles Crisis]? And more importantly, would Sullivan actually know what he meant, if he were? As Executive Intelligence Review’s military analyst Carl Osgood reported, “The U.S. is so 'unconcerned' about the Russian task force, in fact, that the U.S. Navy deployed three guided-missile destroyers, joined by a French Navy frigate and a Canadian warship, as well as U.S. and Canadian aircraft, to monitor the passage of the Russian ships to Havana, just 90 miles off the tip of Florida. ‘Air and maritime assets under U.S. Northern Command have conducted operations to ensure the defense of the United States and Canada,’ the Pentagon said….”These are not, and will no longer be, normal days. We are, perhaps, no longer living in anything that will ever again resemble “normal times.” Our physical space-time has been permanently shifted, and “it is very possible,” as the late Dr. Fred Wills, former foreign minister of Guyana and close friend of Helga and Lyndon LaRouche, used to say, “to be caught below the level of historical events.” That is how nations, civilizations, and empires disappear. What each citizen must do, to not only survive, but also to grow and develop, is a “voluntaristic” approach to improving life by changing history.A former member of the United States National Security Agency (NSA) who viewed the June 12 event observed that Helga Zepp-LaRouche “tied it all together at the end. You need that, because, though I agree that it is necessary for people to be scared of the danger of an inevitable nuclear war, so that they will face it, it’s necessary to know what the world is that we are fighting for, if we are going to have the drive to win.” The Zepp-LaRouche Ten Principles of a New International Security and Development Architecture document may be the major reason why she has appeared on so many “hit lists” and “kill lists” issued by forces in Ukraine, and by extension, NATO. Her principles are revolutionary in their simplicity, and should be read and consulted as a short, intelligible declaration of “why we fight.” Speaking of “hit lists,” the U.S. Congress is now threatening to defund the Ukrainian “Data Journalism Agency” also known as “Texty,” a platform and non-governmental organization which had recently published a list with nearly 400 American citizens, including Harley Schlanger and Diane Sare and 76 organizations to be “hit.”Zepp-LaRouche’s evaluation of what the press conference accomplished, and what now needs to be done, is partially reproduced here, and is otherwise available in the transcript of her weekly webcast June 13, “The ‘Sole Superpower’ Heads Towards Bankruptcy and Irrelevance.” She was asked what her response was to the success of the Washington, D.C.-based panel with Ritter, Colonel Black, and Colonel Wilkerson:Zepp-LaRouche: "Well, I think it was an important first step. I think that the competence of the speakers, who all have military or intelligence backgrounds: Colonel Wilkerson was the chief of staff for Colin Powell, very outspoken and eloquently insightful. Naturally, Richard Black has a huge international following. People have enormous respect for his integrity as an American patriot. And Scott Ritter is maybe at this point the most outspoken critic of the U.S. policy of confrontation against Russia, in particular, but also against China. So, I think the combination of these speakers, together with me, was important to get across the urgency. Scott Ritter said it repeatedly: He said that when people tell him he shouldn’t scare people, he said that is exactly what we have to do, because only if people are waking up—I’m now using my own words—in the middle of the night full of sweat, being afraid that they will die soon if the policy is not changed, this is much better than sleepwalking into a catastrophe from which nobody may be left if it occurs.“So, I think this was very, very important. Immediately after we concluded this press conference, I turned on the German TV to watch the news. It was really like a completely different universe. Where people in our press conference were warning of what will happen if it comes to nuclear war and how real it is, the lack of reality in the German public debate, at least as it is transmitted by the mainstream media, is just mind boggling. Here you have Pistorius, the Defense Minister, calling for militarization of the German state, calling for a new draft army, which is fallen out of times completely; this is supposedly not the Cold War. "So, I would really urge you, our viewers, the most important thing you can do is please watch this press conference if you haven’t done so yet, and then send it around as widely as possible to all possible people; elected officials, social media contacts, institutions. I think that that is a very important warning message. “Is this enough already now to stop the train which, according to many military experts and leaders of Europe, East European states, has left the station already? I don’t think so. Because just today it was reported that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko, basically warned that there are very clear signs that NATO is preparing for a clash with Russia, including the option of involving nuclear weapons, and that the situation is completely dangerous. Therefore, I don’t think we have derailed this policy. I think we have given the people of good will a tool with which they can warn elected officials and their friends and associates, but a lot more has to be done.”

June 12—One year ago, June 10, 2023, Helga Zepp-LaRouche organized and keynoted a Schiller Institute Conference, “The World Needs JFK’s Vision of Peace.” Zepp-LaRouche and her newly-organized International Peace Coalition had just begun meeting weekly on Fridays, holding a provocative but fruitful international dialogue, involving all national populations, on how to change the lethal popular culture of pessimism and indifference, to embark upon a new course of optimistic, mass-based, strategic policy-actions. One year later, the International Peace Coalition has held 53 consecutive Friday meetings, open to all those of good will, devoted to the task of establishing a new security and development architecture for the world. On June 10, 1963, JFK stated his vision of peace in these words: Let us examine our attitude toward peace itself. “Too many of us think it is impossible. Too many think it is unreal. But that is a dangerous, defeatist belief. It leads to the conclusion that war is inevitable—that mankind is doomed—that we are gripped by forces we cannot control. We need not accept that view. Our problems are man-made—therefore, they can be solved by man.”Now, in the aftermath of the highly successful, annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum over June 508, attended by 19,000 people from 136 nations, forces for peace in the trans-Atlantic world must escalate. Today, the Schiller Institute will host, at the National Press Club, an Emergency Press Conference: “The Danger of Nuclear War Is Real, And Must Be Stopped.” The conference features Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector and U.S. Marine intelligence officer, who was recently illegally prevented by the United States State Department from traveling to Russia to address the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum; Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Founder and Chairwoman, Schiller Institute; Col. Richard H. Black (ret.), former head of the U.S. Army’s Criminal Law Division at the Pentagon and former Virginia State Senator; and Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst and co-founder of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS).There is a great need to set the record straight as to who in the world is actually pushing for thermonuclear war. During a 22-minute exchange with moderator Sergey Karaganov at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin reminded the world that “I’m not the one who started talking about nuclear weapons. It was that little British prime minister.” Putin was referring to Liz Truss, the shortest-serving prime minister in British history, who, in August of 2022, before she was even placed in that office, was asked about launching nuclear war, in an interview during a campaign event: “Your orders to our Trident boat captain on whether you, prime minister, is giving the order to unleash nuclear weapons. It would mean global annihilation … How does that thought make you feel?” In the words of London’s The Independent, which reported the incident at the time, “Truss appeared without emotion as she replied: ‘I think it’s an important duty of the prime minister and I’m ready to do that.’ She added: ‘I’m ready to do that.’”Shortly after she made the statement, Putin had criticized, not only Truss, but Western leaders who did not attempt to correct her. “You see, no one responded to that in any way. Suppose she just spaced out and let it slip. How can you say such things publicly? She did, though. They should have set her straight, or Washington could have publicly stated that it has nothing to do with this. We have no idea what she is talking about, they could have said. There was no need to hurt anyone’s feelings; all they had to do was dissociate themselves from what she said. But everyone was silent.” No such correction occurred, until Truss was removed from office. With respect to thermonuclear war, Putin emphasized, during his remarks over the weekend, and turning to directly address his audience for additional emphasis: “Please do not mention such things idly.” He received spontaneous, general applause, because people could sense both how serious he was about the gravity of even discussing the topic, and how different his manner of strategic thought is from leaders in NATO. They are, as you are reading this, through Ukraine, assaulting Russia’s early warning radar systems with American and British missiles inside Russian territory. In the assessment of Scott Ritter, the world may be one ATACMS missile strike short of thermonuclear annihilation. For that reason, something new and effective must emerge over the short term from the trans-Atlantic nations—a new leadership which has a grasp of reality. It is clear that the results of the just-concluded elections in Europe show the desire of the population for something better. There is, in the case of the United States, for example, access by the citizenry to the power of the Presidency, by means of independent actions taken by private citizens, who have qualified themselves to propose and implement such changes as are required to access and deploy that Presidential power on behalf of the General Welfare of the nation in particular, and the planet as a whole. That is not to suggest that there is presently a U.S. Presidential candidate of that caliber, or even inclination. The candidacies in New York of Diane Sare for U.S. Senate, and Jose Vega for Congress in the 15th CD, however, can represent the standard by which all other candidacies are measured on matters of strategic policy. Such a standard was set by economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche, through his Presidential campaigns of 1976, 1980 and 1984, during which he proposed, and President Ronald Reagan adopted, his Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) policy.Today, independent candidacies for office, in the United States and other nations as well, combined with an energetic citizenry, informed by the Alert Service now being daily made available by the Executive Intelligence Review, can prove JFK’s vision of peace to be correct. “No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. Man’s reason and spirit have often solved the seemingly unsolvable—and we believe they can do it again.”

June 10—In a world where, as Helga Zepp-LaRouche said to June 7 meeting #53 of the International Peace Coalition, “red lines are being crossed every day,” and world war seems an inevitability, humanity’s survival may now well depend on an immediate, successful deployment and application of a higher level of intelligence in statecraft. The United States Administration, and nearly all of the Anglosphere’s present leadership are found wanting of the intellectual or moral capability to survive. The obscenity of the “D-Day 80th anniversary ceremony in France on June 6 being used to launch a Third World War,” much to the consternation of the nonagenarian veterans in attendance, need only to be mentioned here. President Joe Biden wondered where his invisible seat was, as the world wonders who the invisible American Presidency is.Luckily for the world, however, something extraordinary occurred in St. Petersburg, in certain, extraordinary remarks made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a question and answer session following the plenary session of that conference, for altogether three and three-quarters hours. Putin first discussed the death of the Bretton Woods monetary system, which he dated from the January 1976 “Jamaica Accords” conference that revised certain laws of the International Monetary Fund to officially end the 1944-71 monetary system, established at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, using the dollar, backed by a fixed parity with gold, as the basis of world credit. He then described the unpayable debt of the system in certain terms. Then, Putin, in discussing steps that must be and are now being taken, among the BRICS and BRICS-Plus nations, to avoid being swept away in the avalanche of financial speculation and unpayable indebtedness of the Anglosphere, said something of central importance—something which would have been the basis for discussion, and at least provisional agreement, with American President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and a post-Cuban Missile Crisis John F. Kennedy.Referencing a discussion that had occurred with special guest President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe regarding investment in his and other African nations, Putin said: “Yes, that’s right, it can be done, and not only in relation to Zimbabwe, it can be done in relation to other African countries; this can be done in relation to the countries of South Asia and Asia in general, (and) in relation to rapidly developing countries. But we need instruments that would guarantee these investments and the return (on investment). What can this be based on, if not on gold? On the quality of the proposed investment projects. If we ensure the quality—the quality and stability of political regimes—and we will have to do this together, then we can develop such a system of settlements, which will be practically devoid of volatility, will not be volatile, will not be subject to inflation. All this can be done. We discussed this with my friend and colleague, President Xi Jinping during my trip; we will talk about this with other leaders of the BRICS countries. This is a very important area of joint work.” (Emphasis added.)This is the secret of not only the real purposes behind the present wars. This describes, in one way, the principle of human economy, as opposed to Adam Smith’s predatory monetarism, or the “primitive accumulation” forms of socialist “redistributionist” economy, or anarchic libertarianism, or fascist forms of military “command economy,” such as the military-monetary complex is now imposing in the trans-Atlantic world. While we do not know, and cannot know, the nature of the exact discussions under way among these nations, and while much would have to be clarified, what we can do is point to economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche’s identification of the same “species-type” of idea: the actual, human nature of credit. In his paper “On a Basket of Hard Commodities: Trade without Currency,” Lyndon LaRouche poses the following: "In the present situation, where the valuation to be placed on each and every currency of Europe and the Americas, among others, is increasingly in doubt, what constitutes the quality of durable value upon which medium -to long-term, hard-commodity capital formation could be rationally premised?… Enter, once again, the matter of ‘a basket of commodities.’ I mean a ‘basket of commodities’ as that notion implicitly underlies the relative success of the 1945—1965 fixed-exchange rate monetary system (the Bretton Woods system). I mean a ‘basket of commodities’ as U.S. Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton’s 1791 Report to the U.S. Congress on the Subject of Manufactures defined what became known world-wide as The American System of political-economy…." (Emphasis in original.)In the concluding paragraph of that July 18, 2000 paper, LaRouche states “a basket of commodities, as I have outlined that case here, is thus to be understood as a shared commitment to do good. The issue of economy is, therefore, not the exact price to be placed on any commodity, but the good will expressed in the way a reasonable estimate of a fair price is adopted. On that basis, a reasonable price for a unit basket of commodities, will be the right price and practice.”Who says that the response of Russia, or China, or other targets of the “mad, old, diseased and dying” Anglosphere, must be military, in the way that machos, or Neanderthal knuckle-draggers, or, lower yet, State Department and other “secret government” operatives prefer to conceive of military affairs? Is it possible that what we are seeing in St. Petersburg, is an “asymmetric warfare” response to the bombing of Russia by NATO? We do not know; we can, however, propose that using the ‍  ‍ Ten Principles for a New International Strategic and Development Architecture of Helga Zepp-LaRouche, that a dialogue be immediately convened among all those nations and individuals of the world that believe in humanity, on this level. The Schiller Institute will hold a conference June 15-16, intended to do precisely that. Also note, in another “flanking action,” the Schiller Institute press conference that will be held Wednesday, June 12 at the National Press Club, in Washington, D.C., featuring Scott Ritter, Col. Richard Black (ret.), Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Ray McGovern, and others.

Kune 3—The late economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche concluded his 1977 document, titled “What Really Are the Labor Committees?—The Lessons of Erasmus and Franklin,” with the following paragraph: “Let it be understood, therefore, that if you are a humanist, the Labor Committees are in that sense your organization—whether or not you are a member. If you are for technological progress in the expansion of industry and agriculture, and define the vital interests of nations in those terms, and if you regard man’s power to create and assimilate scientific knowledge for the perfection of our species as the inviolable distinction between man and the lower beasts, then the Labor Committees are an indispensable aid to the cause you espouse, whatever political affiliation you have.”Nearly 50 years after that was written, independent candidates that have rejected bankrupt, moribund political parties, such as New York’s U.S. Senate candidate Diane Sare and Bronx Congressional candidate (15th CD) Jose Vega, are part of a growing international movement away from the predatory military-financial complex. Those in the trans-Atlantic sector calling for a return to advanced technological progress and an increase in the productive powers of labor, in alliance with the emerging nations of the Global South, are on the cutting edge of world politics today. War, even total war, will not stop this progress, if an international coalition for peace, linked together by a 24-hour “symposium” process, can operate as an intellectual clearing-house for policy deliberation. To do so, such a coalition must be informed by an “emergency alert service,” through which world-class thinkers—those with and without “terminal degrees”—can reach at least hundreds of thousands on a daily basis. These informed citizens could, in turn, act as the “support base” for, not merely independent candidacies, but independent voices, many of them in their teens and twenties, that will make “good trouble” for the decaying “status quo.”Why is an “emergency alert service” so necessary? Because a population can sometimes be most effectively brainwashed by leaving them clueless about the implication of humanity’s greatest achievements, especially depriving them of the benefit of the enthusiasm with which such achievements should naturally be met. Example: this Sunday, at 6:23 a.m.Beijing time, the Chang’e-6 spacecraft touched down in the Apollo crater on the far side of the Moon. “The China National Space Administration (CNSA) now has two far-side landings under its belt—this one and Chang’e-4, which dropped a lander-rover combo onto the gray dirt in January 2019. No other country has done it once,” reported Space.com. This means that the Chinese have now accomplished a new feat for mankind, probably the greatest feat in space engineering application since the United States left the Moon in 1972. If the next phase of the mission is successful, China’s Chang’e-6 will scoop up samples of Moon rock and dust, and fly them home in an Earth re-entry module.Because of China’s achievements, humanity is better, today, than it was the day before, as a result—no matter how people “feel” about that. Chang’e-6 is humanity’s best example, for today, of what LaRouche called “Human practice increasing man’s power over nature.” So everyone should be alerted to that. China’s success should have been prominently featured in the United States, the first and only country to land the human race on the Moon. It should have been celebrated throughout the world. But why was this not made prominently known to all? That was not done, because of the wall-breaching, barriers-crossing enthusiasm it would have engendered, an enthusiasm more powerful than that we saw with the April 8 solar eclipse. It was not done, because the Chinese are the next “great enemy” which threatens the “rules-based order,” we are already being told—even as the NATO war on Russia causes the world to be poised one accidental idiocy, or one intentional lunacy away from thermonuclear war.The beauty, and necessity, of the International Peace Coalition process initiated by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, is that it is beginning to take on aspects of a Platonic symposium. Several of the participants have now decided that it is the process of thinking that is increasingly imbued in the weekly dialogue, rather than the individual evaluations presented, which gives a unique character to the Friday gatherings. They are establishing a consistency in deliberation upon policy, premised upon the idea that it is the thinking citizen, in social discourse on the “res publica” —the public things—that must be the engine of change. This is to be done, not by overturning an order which will, in any case, collapse, but by establishing principles, intelligible to all and tested through social practice, through which self-government, starting with putting an end to the slaughter called war, supersedes all “rules of law.” Circulation of this past week’s proceedings of the IPC’s 52nd consecutive session, by energetic, informed citizens, is the declaration and deployment of intellectual independence we need, if humanity is to not only survive, but advance, in these next weeks and months.

June 1—This past week’s successful drive, led by the LaRouche Organization’s daily Emergency Alert Service, to break the story that the war on Russia by the financially and morally bankrupt Anglosphere has entered a new, lunatic phase with “Ukraine’s”—read “NATO’s”—bombing of Russia’s early warning radar system, is an important first step toward the establishment of an independent, international intelligence gathering and evaluations capability. A combination of short video presentations, long-form interviews, “news shorts” and extended backgrounder reports, combined with multiple-format international conferences, are all additional components of the daily briefing process of the emergency alert system. By distributing, as well as reading/viewing these materials, electronic and physical, the committed citizen can help her/his respective nation’s populace establish the conceptual foundation for informed, nonviolent effective action. Energetic minds, particularly those of newly-awakened youth opposing mass depopulation and genocide in all forms, can arrive at not compulsive, but informed judgments as to what to actually do, now, to supplant the already-dead post-colonial financial and value system, of “geopolitics” with real, immediate solutions, such as the LaRouche Oasis Plan.Schiller Institute chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s concluding statement, delivered to the 300 persons and institutions attending the 52nd consecutive Friday meeting of the International Peace Coalition, is featured below. Her closing remarks, in which she also responded to the questions and contributions from several participants made during the 2.5 hours of intense deliberation, were delivered in the shadow of a looming, potentially thermonuclear world war. While the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts, and the instability of the bankrupt trans-Atlantic financial system, are the focus of popular attention—and properly so—the deeper reasons for this existential crisis for human civilization have been “hiding in plain sight,” caused not by October 7, 2023, or February 24, 2022, or even since September 11, 2001. It is, rather, the failure of the United States, particularly after the 1986-89 character assassination and incarceration of the economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche, to implement the vision of world peace proposed by President John F. Kennedy in his June 10, 1963 speech at American University: “Our problems are man-made—therefore, they can be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. Man’s reason and spirit have often solved the seemingly unsolvable—and we believe they can do it again.”ZEPP-LAROUCHE:  First of all, I want to thank both the presenters, but also the participants because I think the totality of what was presented is really something every responsible politician should know.  So, I would like to add to my thanking you, the urgent appeal that you help us to bring the proceedings of this IPC, which actually was the one-year anniversary session.  I’m sure that we will make a shorter version of maybe half an hour or an hour, but also the totality of it. And really try to get it to all parliamentarians of the country you are in, other elected officials, other institutions. I think this is absolutely invaluable to hear it in that clear form. So, I would really urge you to make a commitment to get it out. And also multiply. I think we had larger numbers this time, but I think we still need to reach out to connect all the different groupings and really get a mass mobilization in light of what could really go out of control in a very short period of time.On the question raised earlier, of why are the Europeans so servile in bending over to what the questioner posed as U.S. imperialism.  In February 2022, Chancellor Scholz said that he would not participate in any weapons and so forth—this was even before the special military operation started—because it would lead to World War III. He said it very publicly. Then, step by step, first no light weapons, only helmets; then light weapons; then ammunition; then Leopard tanks; and now it’s basically let the Ukrainians use all these weapons systems. So, it’s an escalation: Step by step we are getting closer to crossing the red lines. Nobody knows exactly when Russia feels that the final red line has been crossed, but I think we are really so absolutely in danger that I can only appeal to all of you to help us build this into a real peace movement internationally. As Prof. Boyd-Barrett correctly reminded us, it is not enough to have a European new security architecture, because it would not solve the geopolitical confrontation. I think what we need is a new global security and development architecture which indeed takes into account every country—Iran, North Korea, Israel, Palestine, the United States, China, Russia. If we don’t make that mental jump to agree that, given the complexity of the world today, we cannot find a solution on a side order. It has to address the totality. And I think it can be done. The Peace of Westphalia conference is a very good historical reference. I have proposed since the beginning of this war Ten Principles which absolutely must be discussed and solved at such a conference, and naturally many other points can and will be added as the negotiations proceed.I also want to thank especially Ibrahim, because what you said in terms of the mental outlook, the mentality, is the key for us to succeed. Only if we replace this stupid geopolitical running with the head to the wall, by regarding other countries as enemies which are not. There is a German proverb that says, “It comes back as an echo from the woods, in the same way as you are yelling into the woods.” That is exactly what is happening. All the countries of the Global South are not aggressive, they are not imperialist. They would cooperate with the West very easily if we would respond to offers coming from those such as Lula right now and China on the Ukraine peace plan, and many other proposals by Xi Jinping for a Global Security Initiative, a Global Development Initiative, and a Global Civilizational Initiative.  This is very close to what we say, because we always say we need a new world economic order which allows for the development of all countries and all nations. But that has to be combined with a renaissance of the best cultures and traditions of all nations on this planet. Especially your formulation that we are a microcosm, and the world at large is the macrocosm which only can function if all the microcosms can develop and regard it as in their self-interest to develop the other ones. That is the kind of world we have to build, and that can be done. Anybody who says this is a utopian conception agrees that we will end up annihilating civilization with a nuclear winter following a global nuclear war. That is not an acceptable proposition because it would mean that all the efforts of humanity for generations and generations would have been all for nothing.  And that I cannot accept as an outcome of history. So, I appeal to you; mobilize whatever agapē, Christian charity, love, passion for humanity you can mobilize and help us get the world on a different track. I have discussed and others have discussed this idea of a global security and development architecture with many forces already; international organizations, universities, think tanks. I think if we would just have a series of such discussion platforms, where scholars and wise men and women from all over the world would get together and discuss how we can give ourselves an order which makes it possible that we survive long-term as a human species. I’m absolutely sure that it can be done, provided that enough people are mobilizing together with us.So please go out and get the message of today out as widely as you can.
